Anyway, republicans took it up themselves for the last paragraph you wrote. If they wanted to support opening up without them being viewed as republicans, they shouldnt be protesting on the streets with MAGA merch/republican slogans

There's a thin line though between protecting people's health and protecting economy. Economy has become a negative word I don't know why, but without it we wouldn't be able to buy stuff, to feed ourselves.

Without a solid economy people WILL die, and all economists even from Europe predict that hundreds of thousands of people WILL die from the economical crisis we are about to live.

It baffles me when I read people who do really know what we should be doing at every stage of this unprecedented situation. You guys should run for presidency to be quite honest

My thoughts exactly. I get and agree with wanting to expose corporate greed and taking a stance against making employees sacrificial, but there has to be a balance between a reopening and continued mitigation.

I'm also unsure why more attention and effort is not being placed in the three most vulnerable places (nursing homes, prisons, and essential manufacturing/packaging facilities). This seems to be a largest number of the cases and how it spreads into local communities. State and national efforts needs to go towards these places. Once these issues are being met, I will be more comfortable with "Freeing America".

The culture of the U.S. we have been seeing also needs to change. This means making sure the overwhelming majority, if not all, of Americans will wear masks in public, take social distancing seriously, and putting trust into the public health professionals. The good fight is being fought. I see people form my hometown who usually see eye to eye on issues having differences of opinion and having civil discussion about the topic (the civil part is so important). Perceptions are changing and evolving, but it needs constant push and time. The latter of the two we don't have much of. 

LBR tho. The change of culture isn't going to happen over night and is going to take a lot of work. The federal response to the facilities mentioned is dishonorable and will more than likely not change any time soon. Until this is corrected, I don't think we can go back to "normal" yet, or anything close to it for that matter, without a serious loss of life and infection.

Regarding the corporate influence on American politics and the private interests of the president and his family being put over good governance, I'm not so sure I still consider the USA a "strong democracy".

Gee if only the government had enough money to take care of its citizens during a pandemic and economic crisis. Too bad we waste most of it on the military industrial complex, easing taxes in the rich and the wealthy, and bailing out corporations. Oh well! I guess we just have to let people die of either starvation or by a virus. But at least the corporations will be okay!!!!!!!
