You guys realize that for every doom and gloom article there is another article out that shows a different hypothesis right?

I think everyone is getting a little too comfortable thinking we can just stay home forever; thanks to celebrities on social media telling us to, and the the extreme right wing protestors making anyone who says this sh!t is not sustainable seem crazy. 

The science on this is NOT settled and likely won’t be for some time and until then it’s not a law.

Yes that makes sense if you are caring for vulnerable people. I commend you as I was a caretaker for a long time until I lost my grandmother. 

But we are being forced to ALL take on that reality even when it’s not ours and I’ve had ENOUGH. 

If we don’t make some changes soon, lots of elderly and poor people are going to die as well. Under possibly worse circumstances.

Oh yup, I can't wait till we regain some sense of normalcy. I was just messaging my friend about that. I thought I was okay with all this, but I am at the point where I need some physical contact with other people, not to mention the new problems being created/other problems intensifying as a result: increased domestic violence, depression, poverty, homelessness, etc. Please bring on the good news articles. I just snoozed someone whom I adore on FB, because I can't take his doom and gloom articles anymore! 

My parents are perfectly independent, and that's the problem. If we weren't under lockdown, my mother would be everywhere under the sun. 

Hopefully your name change will throw off your stalker and her doppelgängers, at least for a while!

The UN said 200k-300k children will likely die as a result of the economic collapse (and that’s only children)

I read somewhere else that 130M people will be pushed to the brink of starvation by the end of the year 

But anyone who wants things to start reopening and getting the economy back up gets hit with “yOu CaRe MoRe AbOuT mOnEy ThAn LiVeS”

Yeah I had to mute quite a few friends. I’m just sick of it.

Two things can be true - this is serious and we need to deal with it, with certain precautions (I don’t think the Swedish model would work in America - at least the urban areas) AND now we need a plan to get back moving, especially the healthy people or we are going to end up worse off.

I mean, I’m pretty old compared to most of the people on here. Which is why I’m not well liked in most political threads

I generally like my governor, but it’s like he has no plan except to just keep extending lockdowns which is getting old. We’re well past our peak, sent hundreds of ventilators to NY because we never hit capacity, and the majority of the state barely got hit with it at all. There’s no reason things can’t start slowly opening at this point

None of the hospitals where I’m at have been over run, and I completely understand that’s because of the precautions we took.  I’m fine until the extended deadline but beyond that - I’m done. 
 
I am with you - we can’t keep just extending. 

And if I hear one more person say we can’t have concerts or sports until a vaccine - I’m going to lose my mind.
