Ten years from now, if not less, the world will be talking about “the new Gaga” and how this new girl is doing far better, instead of actually supporting the fact that Madonna inspired Gaga and Gaga inspired a new girl and that each deserves to be cherished as herself

Well it took less than ten years cause Ava Max is here and we all know how people call her

We don't the message of the song yet and Gaga stated that one of the collaborations is from " a woman who has experienced immense trauma while in the public eye." They both can somehow relate to this

Don’t mind replying to that user. They post flamebait comments to get a reaction out of people. Typical behaviour for them. And they’ll backtrack in the end with ‘I like debating’ yada yada. A waste of time.

Does it matter? Damage is done

The comparison is pathetic, annoying and useless. All of them have their own place in pop culture. This thread is just looking to get a rise out of people. :bye:

Enigma

Sometimes a decade doesn’t have legends and it’s fine to recognize that.

There’s a reason we still talk about Madonna and MJ instead of whoever peaked in the 90s and 2000s.

I believe Gaga being the new Madonna is a fair comparison. Beyoncé is another modern pop star that is on her level.

No one else from the 2000s and onwards has reached that level. Just because Ariana is at the top of the game right now doesn’t mean she’s on the level of Madonna.

Please. There are SEVERAL pop stars next in line for the “best peak” throne before Ariana is even mentioned.

Ari has NOTHING on Rihanna and Katy from the late 2000s.

It’s just so reductive... Madonna landscaped the WHOLE female pop industry, and Gaga shook it up again in 2010, forcing everyone to step up their game.

Ariana has A LOT of crumbs to eat before she can be put in the same category :madge:

And btw, streaming has killed pop culture. There is no more “queen” of pop. No one comes up with iconic MVs anymore. The #1 spots constantly alternate between rappers and one hit wonders. Gaga is the strongest artist of our generation and even she isn’t topping the charts anymore... It really isn’t as defined as it used to be

You understand if someone is a legend with time. It’s pointless to say that 2000s and 2010s did not have legends. Let time speak. And you don’t have to be a Madonna to be a legend. Imo, Adele, Rihanna already passed the test of time, for example, but that’s just my opinion.

I kind of agree with the last part tho

The main pop girl right now is Dua, in terms of sheer popularity

The main pop guy is The Weeknd

But in regards to LGBT cultural relevancy I'd say yeah Gaga and Ari

even though i agree about the weeknd dua lipa is far from being the main pop girl, with this album she is currently working her way up and if her next one is just as good then yes she will be one of the main pop girls imo

No lol. They're nowhere near the level of Britney and Madonna. Only delusional Little Monsters think so. I'm sure Swifties also think that Taylor Swift is the new Madonna and the Beehive thinks that Beyoncé is the new Madonna :ladyhaha:

I hope this is ironic. Because this is one of the most delusional things I have read on here.
