I just feel you're missing the point of this thread a little. I'm not imagining a EDM pop record celebrating her previous and I'm not pretending like I believe this is going to happen and she is going to actually release an ACT 2 and ACT 3 - but I do think it would be cool if she expanded what ARTPOP is by releasing an ACT II as an "end of second chapter" retrospect in the way the first ARTPOP was a sort of retrospect for the first chapter of her career. I think it would be cool of her to make a statement on her entire career by inviting it to be viewed within the lens of this giant pop performance exploring, studying and reflecting on the things I mentioned in OP. I have 2 questions for you : - Would you be okay if that kind of retrospect would be called something other than ARTPOP? - Why do you think ARTPOP was kind of a sum up to what she did before? TF/TFM/BTW were heavily dance and electropop, the latter (BTW) being kind of a darkish electropop mainly, ARTPOP was EDM and synth-pop. My point is, although her career up until 2013 was mainly focused on pop music, she experienced with different kinds of pop, and ARTPOP was in no way a retrospect on her previous works I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time. With ARTPOP she pushed the electronic dance pop sound of her previous works to the edge and pushed her imagery to even further extremes. The soundscape of her album was more EDM focused featuring contributions from DJ White Shadow, Zedd and Infected Mushrooms and she decided to collaborate with respected multi-disciplinary artists from performance artists, theatre directors, sculptors and photographers to push her visuals further. Gaga said herself during ARTPOP that she considers her entire career to be ARTPOP - it was literally her pushing her previous work to the limits of what it could be. In her previous work (Like TF/TFM) she would constantly reference artist like Warhol whether through persona's like Candy Warhol or with her bright yellow hair. She performed at Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art on a Damian Hirst designed piano wearing a Frank Gehry designed hat in a performance coordinated by Francesco Vezzoli. ARTPOP was her previous work on acid - . She went from dance-pop and turned the dial up to EDM, she took her eccentric fashion and cranked it up to a 10, she collaborated not only with fashion designers and fashion photographers to create avant-garde fashion moments but she also started reaching out to collaborate with respected multi-disciplinary artists from performance artists, theatre directors, sculptors and art photographers. There is a reason why her debut performance of Applause at the VMA's was Gaga transforming through every Era. ARTPOP wasn't just a retrospect, but it was an attempt to push her previous work pushed to it's absolute limit.
