Okay, I have to amend my earlier remarks. My Taiwanese friends are furious at her and writing scathing things about her on social media. Their anger is misdirected in my opinion, but I'm not going to engage them and will let them vent.

People need to get their **** together. Why should she be hated for callen Tedros a superstar?

He's the chief of the WHO and the WHO is an office of the UN. He can't recognize Taiwan or HK as independent countries even if he wanted to.

People think Tedros is some sort of powerful person that rules the world or something like that. He is not.

Not even the UN had the power todo that. Do you think it's that easy? Look at Palestine!!

Thank you! I really can't understand why it's so difficult to separate things in this specific situation. She didn't praise Tedros, she praised the director-general of WHO who happened to be him at the moment for letting her ideas come to fruition.

Regardless of their stand, WHO is still the most recognized international organization in terms of health so it would make sense for Gaga to partner with them.

Some of my friends are posting on Instagram stories of them deleting Gaga’s discography and lighting her CDs and tour merch up on fire. Some die hard monsters here are super disappointed. I totally understand. It’s like we were all educated by her about human rights and freedom the past 10 years and suddenly she is siding with an enemy. The betrayal. It sucks. I’m not burning my stan card yet because she shaped me so many ways I can’t just leave her like that but I’m disappointed.

The impact is crazy. Many of my LGBT friends really see Gaga as a beacon. In East Asia, being gay is such a taboo. Gaga to many of us basically introduced to us a different perspective and is the biggest part of our lives, values etc. Seeing this “betrayal” is heartbreaking.

She didn’t even mention China. Your idol doesn’t think that Taiwan is a part of China.

I’m sorry for being insensitive but I just remembered when Gaga met Dalai Chinese liddos said the same thing like Gaga hated and didn’t care for her chinese liddos. Now Taiwanese liddos did the same thing.

On the bright side she did bring y’all together to hate her. It’s so funny to me .
