derpmonster 22,412
Just realized. Obviously the album version of INLA is perfection and Benjamin Rice did amazing work with the vocal production. But I just listened to the movie version of INLA and it just hits so hard. It's so much more delicate and it's got all these beautiful little imperfections in her voice that didn't make it to the soundtrack. It's mixed differently and it's just so amazing in the original form. Weird how they decided to give us the live version of Shallow but a super polished version of INLA. The album versions of Shallow and ARUTW are different from the film too.

Yes - I think they're actually the same takes, just mixed and produced differently (smoothed out on the album). Heal Me and WDYDT however use entirely different vocal takes. It's up there as one of my favourite albums. It's actually funny that a lot of chartsters liked Joanne while the rest of GGD consider it a low point in her career OT: anyone else not able to focus on work due to ROM hype? But I still think it's the same take - they just fixed it in the production and the space between the phrases makes up for the difference.
