I actually think tenors and sopranos are very similar timbre wise, they're like analogs, so I don't see too much of a contrast there. In general, I am in AWE of high head voice notes from true sopranos when it comes to opera but when it's a song where lyrics matter, when it's a more modern song, I prefer a mezzo or alto voice. My music preference leans more classical than pop, which is why I'm more critical. To me, Gaga is more classical than her contemporaries but she is definitely not classical.
