The way she incorporated elements of J-Pop and kawaii metal so seamlessly into mid-00s pop is actually masterful. Even the 'weaker' prerelease track (Chosen Family) sounds incredible in context coming up after the fadeout of Tokyo Love Hotel. Was a fan of the Rina EP but I was always so curious to see how she would evolve into the album status with a bit more time. (Cherry and Alterlife are perfection) From first impressions my favs are: Dynasty (full Evanescence vibes), XS, STFU!, Paradisin', Love Me 4 Me, Bad Friend and Who's Gonna Save You Now? The meshing of styles is just perfection, and the subject matter of the songs I find so refreshing. That being said I am really not feeling Chosen Family or Snakeskin at this point, but I mean the album is top notch so I can't complain at all! She is the moment. I think that’s the general consensus with the initial reaction of the singles versus listening to them within the album as a whole!
