With Gaga, Sam Smith etc postponing albums because of Coronavirus, is it really that unacceptable and inappropriate to release new music with all of this going on in the world?

Putting aside the fact artists can't promote so easily, shipments/deliveries is more difficult etc, IMO it's not a huge 'no-no' to release an album.

All you have to do is go to the Chromatica Discussion thread, grab some popcorn, and then you’ll get your answer :smh:

I'm trying to find level-headed/objective answers that exist beyond our combined desperation for new Gaga music

It depends. With Gaga, Sam etc, i do think its a bit inappropriate. They arent the ONLY people to have created their respective albums, producers, mixers etc all deserve recognition and adequate payment. And in my opinion during this time of crisis that would HEAVILY affect the performance of their albums.
However if your just releasing old songs, or songs theyve made in their mansions by themselves while the world is facing a crisis, go for it :ohwell:

Releasing digital music you make from home or made before - yes that’s ok

Making people work and risk their lives to deliver your physical music - no that’s not ok

We can enjoy various forms of entertainment and whether we buy/stream it is totally optional, so no I don't think it's inappropriate.

Exploiting the pandemic and writing a Coronavirus theme song would be :poot: but not the usual releases.

It's impractical if you have a complete launch planned. Not inappropriate though - people could use some good music right now.

Music can bring happinnes among people, so I don't see why not.
Physical albums will be delayed but we can stream it since there are digital platforms for music :)

I have no opinion on that, I don't really know how she's profiting from other people making memes about her? I meant like specifically writing a song about Coronavirus and releasing it and keeping the money
