jacs vs looser 4,259
1. They are not original songs 2. They are not live versions of her own songs. 3. They are not covers/reimagined versions of someone else's songs. 4. They will not be significantly different from the versions of the songs she already released. So, no, not elegible for the most part. The only way she could get nominated from these new recordings is if she "released" some of the songs she hadn't previously released as singles. nodandsmile 10,630
I mean Lizzo won this year with a song that was originally release in 2017!!!
StrawberryBlond 14,865
No way, would make a mockery of the entire system. The point of the ceremony is the best of the year, so you can't have old recording competing against new ones. The academy relaxed the rules a bit this time with Lizzo's songs, some of which were as much as 3 years old, but that only because the became hits that year and it was still wrong. How do you formally re-release all your old singles? They've already been done, you can't put them out like they're new and claim that it's no different to putting them out this year. The Grammys would lose all credibility if re-recordings of songs that had already been acknowledged on previous albums could win over new material years later. Bet you'd think it was all fun and games until she won over one of your faves.

Of course it's not going to be on history books Kindness rules all.
