Because it is a way of putting them under the public spotlight, so to speak. All those politicians are more likely not to give a **** about it if Gaga calls them in private, but they're more obligated to respond positively to those tweets (not necessarily on Twitter, but call her back, etc.) now that the invitation from her to collaborate is public. The same kind of people that were the "BTW is a little too straightforward and in your face" crowd. I forgot people said that about Born This Way People who think that way really just need to leave already. I shouldn't be by now but I always feel shocked when I see people on here saying racist and transphobic things. They should know by now that Gaga would not support that kind of thinking whatsoever.
