I have a very strong feeling this outbreak will define years of politics to come, and one of those defining moments will be the US losing its place as one of the top global superpowers. As far as Fauci, he should have kept his mouth shut. Expert or not, there’s video evidence of him in February saying we’re not in a place where we need to change lifestyles yet. Almost sounds like he was also waiting for doom and gloom moments. At the end of the day, he’s still part of an administration that downplayed the outbreak and has some degree of guilt over the lack of attention they paid to this early on. I saw this news report that “US intel warned of coronavirus in November” and was like ... well who did they warn because it definitely wasn’t the American people. Meanwhile a China reported their first cases in late December so it all just sounds so bizarre. We need instant access to testing ASAP. Guess what one of the stipulations of the trade deal were? Either party may withdraw from this deal should there be an Act Of God (including Pandemics). If US intelligence knew there was a global pandemic unfolding, maybe they should've addressed the nation at large instead of the guy they claim hasn't been listening to them for the past three years...so that's why it sounds like a fishy situation to me, and I really don't like Trump. There’s no deep thought, no nuance, everything’s black or white. If you know someone’s opinion on one thing then you can accurately guess 95% of the rest of their stances. Trump cutting China’s flights was a good first step. They needed to act aggressively from the beginning to halt the spread. Analysis shows it came primarily from Europe to the US. Nothing was done until March when things were already out of hand. Testing, slow measures, all a disaster in the US. So many deaths could have been prevented. There are examples of countries who took action faster and halted the spread or at least leveled it to a more manageable situation.
