Dedicated was the true pop salvation.

Future Nostalgia remais superior and way more important. It will mark as one of the best albums of this decade, bookmark me.

"Main pop girl" and "Ariana Grande" don't belong in the same post. :ohwell:

Anyways, NFR! is far superior to the other albums on this list. And I hope you only left Joanne out since Chromatica is close, since it would be the best on this list, period.

I mean... true but Dedicated came first, was a solid album and kind of saved the pop genre by critical success. Dua extended that just months later with Future Nostalgia.

I'm like some kind of supernova

it wasn't the album she originally wanted to do and her team basically scrapped the direction she wanted to go down again and she had no control :saladga: During the Glory era she mentioned how since the conservatorship she didn't have much control over her music and she finally got control with Glory and got to make the album she wanted and that it was like 'her baby' (she said this on an interview but the conservatorship part got scrapped from the broadcast). She was extremely involved in the making of Glory compared to Britney Joan, she even helped create the background music, the claps etc and other sound background sound effects.

Well i think it's better here nnn

So basically when Britney Jean was ready to be released, it ended up leaking a song from the album (Passenger), when it did, some fans suspected that Britney's voice was different, it sounded like the voice of another singer.  After that, the song producer (I don't remember the name) tweeted that what actually leaked was a DEMO of the song sung by another artist and that the final version would be different.  However, when the album was officially released, the version contained was the same as the one leaked, so the question remained.  Not only Passenger, but several other tracks had different vocals, so it was revealed that most of the songs were sung by Britney's backing vocalist, Mayah Marie, who has a very similar voice to Britney. Myah obviously denied what happened, but if we listen to the stems, we will see that some parts were sung by her.

So it's BASICALLY that, but the album recording and rollout was a pure mess :ladyhaha:

Thanks for explaining! I’m glad to hear she was finally able to make the album she wanted with Glory! That sounds like such a crazy situation.

I voted for Lana but is she really considered a main pop girl? She just kind of does her own thing off to the side

reality’s tight if the music is right

Yup

I only forgot to mention that BJ was originally planned to be a second Blackout. In 2012, during the early sessions, she worked with Danja and Rodney Jerkins, giving hints that the album would come with a R&B sound

When will.i.am became the executive producer, he restarted everything changing the album and giving a completely different direction, giving the album a electronic and generic sound.

He basically ruined everything.

I always try to save Will.i.am from getting dragged but I'm not defending this....:huntyga:

Anti with Lover and Lemonade not far behind.

Glory and Madame X are truly awful. Probably among the worst pop albums ever made.

Didnt listen to Liberation.

It’s so crazy to think how some artists are given such little freedom with their own work. If only she was able to just do what she wanted artistically.

Gurl Ariana is definitely a main pop girl. She took some time to get there, but the moment she released Thank U Next, she became one. And quite strong, if you ask me. She's still very young, the GP adores her and she left a second before being overexposed. She has the #1's, the classics, the tour, pop culture moments, the influence, the gays at her feet...

OT: Norman, of course. ANTI is 2nd and Lemonade next to it.
