...but i'm not sure which one. which is your favorite? i'm not into picture discs at all, so that's out of the convo. might wait to see if they come to their senses and put out a cardboard black vinyl and get that and a clear/milky one.

i really want one as long as they do a cardboard cover. my guess is UO is gonna, at some point, have it with cardboard covers. i just hope they make the discs clear or pink

im fine with a black disc as well, but i’m not a fan of silver vinyl personally so just not that

i actually gag whenever i see "silver vinyl" anywhere because it's just always... grey. unless they came up with something else for this pressing.

also may wait a few days until reviews are up on discogs so i know which has better sound quality/pressing, i don't wanna end up in a marina_and_the_diamonds_froot situation

apparently they've tried (by they i mean people making vinyls in general) and it doesn't end up being good, because it messes up with the engraving proccess. i could see maybe some kind of metalic-ish varnish or taint for the plastic before it's melted but it sounds complicated.

i.e. halsey's MANIC double disc (a 50€ double LP that i'm dying to get once i find a sugar daddy) was meant to be glittery multicolor but they e-mailed the costumers saying that it ended up being impossible without sacrifying audio quality so they went ahead with a multicolored alternative.

in general analog audio & vinyl mastering and production is SUPER interesting, i wish i knew more about it + it was cheaper to collect them. sometimes it's super satisfying and some artists really make very great deals, others it's super disappointing.

i've seen you talk about vinyls on other threads, i recommend you join r/vinyldeals r/vinyl r/vinylreleases if you haven't already! <3

it was completely ironic, i haven't even pre-ordered mine yet (because i'm still mad about the no cover situation)

i’m not on reddit yet, but good to know that those exist! def interested. im pretty new to collecting, just got a player and i only have 3 records rn (taylor’s reputation, dua’s future nostalgia in hot pink and mariah’s someday/alone in live 7”. i plan on getting like a virgin next)

and wow, the whole halsey/glitter thing is super interesting, i think the only way to do it would be the same way picture discs are done, but with a glittery piece of paper or plastic in between the outer layers. im not sure how good that would look and picture discs are known for having poor sound quality, but i guess that way it would be possible
