People are being happy about this as if this didn't just cement 4 more years of utter trash-fire that's gonna follow regardless of who wins now... Having read through some of the sludge that bubbles up in Bernie threads, some of you really come off as only caring for having a democrat win, even if it means status quo goes completely unchanged - do you really not see a problem with that :smh:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

I'm not sure who would do better against Trump. Maybe Bernie because Biden is so boring and generic. But I never had solid faith on either of them tbh

i super feel this too tbh. could easily go south regardless.

But given where we are now, it will depend now on how the democrats will come together to form an interesting narrative around Biden. Biden definitely isn't as exciting, as you've mentioned. So, they'll really need to evolve the Biden choice into something more meaningful than just Anti-Trump (although that is a good place to start).

You don’t have a right to tell me how to vote & you will get what you deserve when Joe loses in November. :)

I would never tell you how to vote, only YOU can do that. Biden wasn't my first choice. But I have enough brains to vote for the Democratic candidate whether it was Sanders, Warren, Biden or whoever because the Republican party repels every cell in my body.

Just being anti trump is the worst place to actually be or to start at. Why don’t you guys realize this? Hillary’s entire campaign was “I’m not Trump.” Newsflash. She lost. Doing “I’m not Trump v2.0 with a penis” is not winning either. Either Biden moves significantly left and ends up closer to Pete Buttigieg than George Bush or he has no shot to win.

No no sooner than this thread and CNN is already teeing things up to blame Bernie and his supporters when Joe loses. 😂😂😂

you wanna know why I’m not voting for the dem nominee? Because they don’t take accountability for when they **** up and blame everything on anything and everybody else.

With all due respect, Hillary vs Trump was a different time. Hillary's I'm-not-trump thing backfired for her because she was "the establishment" that trump was promising he was going to take down. The I'm not trump narrative works better now that he actually been president for 4 years and has has been consistently showing lower approval ratings vs past presidents.

The I'm the anti-trump narrative was a great starting point for Biden in the context of the democratic race. It's the narrative that made people see him as more electable thus leading to his primary wins. But as I've said above, they'll need to evolve that into something more, to mean something more.

Bernie to me is a growing movement. Movements rarely catch on right away and ppl shouldn't be overly surprised it didn't catch on right away with establishment

I see him as growing support and paving the way for a younger politician later to have a better shot. Maybe Ocasio Cortez tbh

I personally think he takes his proposed policies beyond a beneficial threshold that does more harm than good. He's too anti business in my view

But part of me wants society to give left wing policies a try to just get it over with and test it

If it works great and skeptics like me were wrong and society can improve. If it doesn't work than leftists can failly understand that good intentions don't equal good results and can backfire and can finally stop demanding some of the agressive measures and we can try a more balanced less extreme form of wealth redistribution (say Elizabeth Warren level)

I'm not proud and it's not about being right. I'd gladly be wrong if a system I don't believe in turns out to work if it means everyone is better for it

But what I think is this movement is not gonna stop until we give it a try and test it out. If it's inevitable rather than delay it lets just see what happens or this war will never end

Agreed. I don't think on its own it's enough and I agree with @HorusRa2 that moving a bit left to say Pete's level might help

But I also think anti-Trump would work better now than in 2016

The ppl that already hated Trump or were neutral at best with him hate him even more now

And some of his supporters have felt betrayed. I'm especially not surprised by low approval ratings given states and people in industries that supported Trump the most were the biggest victims of his crazy trade wars

Farmers and resource workers for example have faced a lot of hard times under his presidency and manufacturing states (predominantly red States) have also performed below national average economically since his trade wars)

I think it's fair to say there's more anti Trump now than in 2016

But yeah not enough on its own to guarantee winning tho. Biden needs to be more exiting and offer enough change to exited the left to at least turnout to vote for him even if he wasn't their top pick
