In the Philippines, the sentence "Poverty is a choice" is trending, and fortunately a lot of people are slamming the opinion, and is slamming the privileged agenda.

Poverty is per definition a lack of financial resources. You can't choose from what you don't have. 

Also there are scientific researches which show that poverty leads to a so-called smaller/decreased "mental range". That means that people living in poverty find it harder/struggle to make good/rational decisions and choices because they are cognitively overloaded. So this whole "choice" thing is complete absurd.
