rasclautmangos 2,743
late 90s/early 2000s was definitely the most dominate pop girl era. Pop music was just very big period during that time, and Britney/Christina mania was definitely something. late 2000s/early 2010s is probably the greatest/most talented pop girl era for me. I would still include Beyonce and add T swift in that era. mid 2010s was just effing sad minus Ariana. I'm hopeful for late 2010s/early 2020s. Dua and Billie are doing pretty well so far. Lol I didnt say vs. I said Britney/Christina. Either way, Gaga and Madonna were never in competition musically. Taylor vs Katy seemed to involve foolishness outside of music. Princess Zelda 720
Y'all can hate all you want but Billie Eilish is a more talented musician (and even singer) than half the late 2000s/early 2010s gurls. Which doesn't mean I didn't grow up with them and stanning the diverse pop queen era of Gaga, Beyonce, Katy, Rihanna, etc. But why do so many have to hate on Billie and other talented artists that are more recent? Mr S 8,203
Even though the internet wasn't as big and I was very young, looking back it has the be the early/mid 90s when Madonna. Whitney, Mariah, Janet were all in their primes or close to it. Those 4 are all timers. The other generation is the late 2000s when you had peak Beyonce, peak Gaga, an up and coming Taylor Swift, Rihanna had hit after hit, and even Katy Perry had an incredible era. She might be talented, the Billie/Finneas duo is great. But you can't seriously expect for a 1-year career (yes, ONE even though Ocean Eyes was released 4 years ago) to compare to 10+ years of career in the music business.
