I mean it's lower than PI was on iTunes after a month back when it was released. That'd horrible. The radio play is amazing.. It really doesn't make sense that it's technically doing worse than PI in sales and streams (PI didn't have half the playlists or AM deal).

I could see it blowing up on radio IF the callouts are good. But it's almost out the top 100 on Shazam aswell. It's gonna take a miricle to turn it around for Stupid Love. I don't think it's a bad song either.

i think what we can get from that is that SL is being pushed more than PI was, but PI just clicked more with people and excited people more

The GP didn't like PI at all, yet seem to like Stupid Love. But many people think it's a grower. Let's wait and see, it's a cute little hit but I don't see it becoming big until Gaga moves a finger to help it. She doesn't promotes (authentically) her leads anymore, it's scary lol

It's a moderate hit I would say. It did alright tho for a lead of a big artist that came back from a big era (ASIB) I did expect more

Also it may have peaked at #5 but peaks can be misleading. It only shows u the position at its highest week. It doesn't tell u how much success a song had overall

Peaks are one of the worst metrics to measure success tbh

The ones who don’t like SL are the same people who SOMEHOW were underwhelmed by PI

I loved Perfect Illusion, Stupic Love is a meh for me

Not a hit. So surprised though considering that she’s coming off a huge era and it’s her pop comeback. I think the song itself is not hit material

most definitely NOT a hit... the first week success was based on font-loaded sales from people being excited about a new Gaga song, and then the excitement deflated in the next few days (not even weeks). The song is going nowhere with sales and streams, the youtube views are rapidly decreasing.... the only thing keeping it afloat are radio plays in the US. Everywhere else the song is long gone on the charts.

Coming right after one of Gaga's most acclaimed and successful eras, and overall GP and media adoration, this is a borderline flop, if anything.

I think it’s a hit, it debuted at number 5 and seemed to get good radio play. There are other successful artists out there whose biggest hit didn’t reach that level. Sure it’s not Bad Romance, BTW, PF level of success but who cares, it’s been successful. And most importantly it’s an amazing song!

the whole world outside the US exists you know.... even in the US, the success is just a statistic fact in the charts, nothing more

I know, I’m just commenting on the Billboard charts because that’s what’s mentioned in the OP. It charted high in many different countries, though. I personally don’t care about charts, I just care if I like the music, but looking at the global charts I’d say it’s a hit in many places around the world. I know charts don’t always accurately reflect if a song is a hit or not, but I personally consider it a hit if it’s charted high in as many markets as it has, even if it’s only a minor hit in some places.

It's a hit, but not a smash.

God Control

I listened to it twice, first audio and then the music video. It was ok, just ok. Not something I wanna repeat or play in the car or at home, but maybe if it comes up in a party, I could sing along or dance. That’s about it. It doesn’t feel special, nothing about it is memorable.

it hasn't charted high in that many countries, not in the official charts...  in some places it didn't even get into the official top10, and even then it's just for one week.

One week in the top 10 is not really a hit, especially for a huge pop star. Overall, I'd say the song had some initial success in the first few days, and then afterwards it barely made  blip on the radar. There is zero longevity outside the US, and even in the US it's doing below average.
