Also what I find interesting is that the rumoured music video shoot for "Rain on Me" is by director Robert Rodriquez. He shot the recent film Alita Battle Angel. This is also giving me those kind of future cyborg vibes as well. I wonder if this shot is from the music video by him and she used it for the album cover? It's definitely part of its own photoshoot, but I also caught the Giger reference
Massive Monster 5,020
I LOVE it! It's giving me the darkness I needed. I was afraid Chromatica would be too cute aesthetically, darkGA come through! Kind regards

I myself thought it was a joke back then, and she definitely wanted us to feel that way, covering what she promoted as the album of the decade with a campy photoshop work and cheap chrome title was genius. The most important in art isn't necessarily the aesthetic quality of the work but the intention behind it. Many still fail to see it unfortunately. To me an album cover has to be visually striking, original and representative of the identity of the artist and the music of the album. Being pretty or visually pleasing comes second. While I think all her albums check those boxes to some extent, ARTPOP reigns supreme over all the others. TFM has a good cover, but it’s just a standard, slightly edgy fashion shoot, comparing that to Gaga photoshopping herself into a motorcycle or getting a statue of herself made is kind of unfair. The Chromatica cover is so far checking all the right boxes, we just need to see how well it mirrors the music on the album.

I can never get past how much the statue doesn't look like her so it ruins it for me... She wasted the entire ARTPOP album shoot for that....
