yeah you clearly aren't the one to teach me because you're not right :billie: pop music, as in the music genre that designates what music is popular, hasn't been used in that way for decades

I'm not the one bringing down an artist in this thread sis

Yeah now. You bringing up decades shows you have no idea of pop terminology and how pop used to be synonim with rock and kept evolving into different genres.

You are the one to bring Gaga down, with the exact ATRLway of thinking you always have.

The irony of you refercing another thread just in the post above. Are they a separate reality or not? Stick to a narrative but keep it sis.

YES they are! :vegas:

Yea no... That thread was definitely not about me being overly sensitive or whatever you said. It was something like this this thread.

You just said threads are a separate reality and can't be mentioned but keep doing otherwise - create a mental narrative but stick to it sis.

TWICE on hatius

Anyway, this is a Dua thread. I'm gonna respect that.

Spoiler

I shall pretend not seeing any SL or Ga comparision

Miss Dua has 4th UK biggest debut album this year with FN and the only album debuting at #2 in top 5. I considered that is a success in UK.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

Sis. You mentioned me being “rude” to you and I replied with the fact that you did it first personally attacking me. No one mentioned Gaga here and therefore there was no need for you to mention/“protect” her. Get a grip.

The first Gaga comparison made here is by a little monster who brought Dua down to praise Gaga. Let’s get that straight.

The fact that you don’t even have anything to say to me after I quoted you and mentioned you giving you perfect explanation about how you’re wrong but reply to him to tell him not to bother actually says to me that you know you were wrong. I may not agree with @FfFfFfFF but I appreciate how opinionated he is and how he is ready to have discussions unlike you I guess.

Wow. 5SOS had a great era with YoungBlood but it was really just the one hit that pushed it. None of their singles from Calm were taking off. If you weren't a fan of theirs, you wouldn't even know they had an album out last week. Their 3 singles peaked at #27, #46 and #68. Dua had huge anticipation for her album, it got massively respected by critics and her 3 singles have peaked at #2, #3 and #6. Considering Physical rose to #3 and Break My Heart debuted at #6 in album release week, I am legit shocked that she couldn't get #1. I didn't know it was possible to get an album with 3 top ten singles debut lower than an album with no hits. I wonder if she and her label figure that it was the wrong choice to put the album out a week early? But they probably thought 5SOS weren't remotely considered competition. But you have to remember that this is the band that had decent album sales and consistent attendance figures at all their tours from the beginning. That shows that their fans are loyal, even if they're not single-buying loyal (which is weird for such a young, singles-oriented, streaming fanbase but ok).

I thought Dua or Abel were going to #1 this week, didn't expect After Hours to drop to #4. But she stands a super high chance of #1 next week as I'm sure Calm's sales are almost completely frontloaded. But I'm sure she wanted the warm and fuzzy feeling of debuting at #1. This tells me that calling off Chromatica was the right move. Even in quarantine, charts are still unpredictable. Really feel for Dua's fans. If Gaga got beaten to #1 by just 550 copies by 5SOS despite an album with 3 top tens and critical acclaim, I'd be needing a tranquiliser dart to the neck.

I thought that thread was way in the past but ok.. I didn't attack you personally but in the way you behave on this forum including towards me. You are overly sensitive to different opinions, just like you can see it in this thread but I don't think you are a bad person. It's not a personal attack to say that.

But other people mentioned her in every other Future Nostalgia thread, so yes there was a need for a mention.

Girl— I didn’t want to argue because I really respect you and usually agree with you on stuff. And you’re dragging me for not having a ‘discussion’ :bradley:

sis I know that, you're bringing things in that have nothing to do with what I was saying. Decades ago, pop USED to denote what was popular at the time, just like you mention with rock. but nowadays, pop music no longer literally means popular music. nowadays, pop music is it's OWN genre, regardless of what genre of music is currently popular.

you're the one who first came into the thread dragging Dua and bringing Gaga into the conversation

This is for all of you that won't shut up about how she saved pop music and that she is better than Gaga.
