She also had over 100 songs written for Anti. That’s what her team usually does. Anyway, I find it strange that she had no plans to release this year when she has been teasing about two albums for like 2-3 years now.

We've heard so many articles like this about her since Anti. We were told mere months after Anti's release that she was already making new material. We were told in 2017 that she was working on two albums, one reggae/dancehall and one more commercial. We were told in 2018 that her album was coming next year. In 2019 we heard nothing. So we're expected to believe this? Even if it is true, I don't know what to believe anymore. She's the girl who cried wolf at this point. Let's face it, Rihanna is not the same person she was in 2012. Her music and other business ventures are where her priority is now. She's had her fun with music and the whole recording and touring cycle isn't where she's at anymore, she probably thinks she's achieved enough and wanted to go out on a high. That's her choice but she should stop keeping her fans hanging and just tell them outright if she's planning anything or not. Because if she ever does come back, I don't think she's going to be as big as she was, she won't be able to get a string of top tens anymore, she's been away too long. You have to realise that even though Anti did quite well in the US, especially with its singles, it flopped worldwide, even in countries that loved her. She hasn't had a truly massive album era since 2011's Talk That Talk. Almost a decade. Those who think she's going to come back to the glory days are very delusional.

Imo if you have to record more than 100 songs for a single album it's a bad sign...
