That is false. Gaga only started to gain hateful attention between Madonna fans when the Born This Way-Express Yourself fiasco happened, in 2011.

This is not true. GaGa was compared with Madonna from the let go, since The Fame (like, I've read the articles myself when she was still pretty much a nobody, only known for "Just Dance", and the media presented her as "the new Madonna"), which always irritated Madonna fans. They hated her waaaaaay before Born This Way, I was active in Pop Music forums and I saw it myself.

Madonna fans never liked GaGa cause they KNEW she came to end careers :billie:

As for Ava, I think she's cute, but she should admit the extremely obvious influence. However, I believe that if she brings up GaGa's name in every interview it'll be actually worse.

She's in a complicated situation, but at the end of the day, NOBODY was asking her to become a carbon copy of The Fame Monster/Born This Way GaGa :laughga:. She made the bed, now she better sleep in it :ladyhaha:

She often deserves the hate she gets TBH :ladyhaha:

This is an awful thing to say.

She hasn't done anything wrong, she doesn't deserve any kind of hate. She isn't obligated to say Gaga influenced her.

The cringe i get from all of this i swear... if gaga is not an influence for her then she isnt... let her be her own person. It‘s not her fault she has a similar face and does some crazy styles. In terms of her singing she clearly isnt influenced by gaga. Cant you just f*cking accept that after the 500th interview where she doesnt say it?

Lol, just chill... It’s obvious that she’s influenced by Gaga, but she doesn’t want to be dragged and called copypaste... That’s why she won’t admit it.

It’s just like saying that Gaga never was TOO MUCH inspired by Madonna or Bowie... :madge:

I love Ava but some of her fans are over-sensitive when people see some similarities between her and Gaga... (I guess lots of LMs acted the same when Madonna fans dragged Gaga in the past :poot:)

It is unethically to blatantly rip off someone else's public persona and business approach, and refuse to give proper credit to the source of your "inspiration". In the artistic world, what she's doing is heavily condemned.

People have accused GaGa of being derivative a million times, but the thing is: GaGa always cites her influences and gives proper credit. She is always respectful of those who inspire her.

Because when you're an artist, that's what you do: you can borrow ideas from other people, but you have to credit them. Ava insists in denying GaGa's influence, when she's very obviously the one performer who inspired her the most.

That's wrong, period. And yes, she deserves the drags because of it, sorry :ladyhaha:

I always defend her, I don't think that her ripping off GaGa is a big deal, is just pop music, who cares, it's meant to be entertaining, Ava Max is hurting no one. BUT, like I said, she's not being ethical, if you do clownery... :laughga:

She did, but tbh Ava’s sound is not that similar to Gaga. Her songs are more bubblegum pop and it’s logical to me that she named Britney Spears for example. She also named a lot of vocalists that most definitely inspired her to have a bigger vocal range like Xtina, Mariah, Whitney and Cèline. These also make sense because they are inspirations for a lot of people, including Gaga herself.

I hate to break it to you but you can literally sing word for word Bad Romance in pretty much the same key over SBP and it fits :billie:

Plus her lyricism and melodies in SBP, SAI, Salt and Torn are straight out of The Fame/The Fame Monster like chord for chord almost. Her RedOne song although doesn’t sound remotely similar which I commend her for but even so it’s a boring song and she probably should’ve made RedOne give her a TF knock off or even purchased an unreleased TF/TFM track like Freakshow, Nothing on But The Radio or something.

And gaga’s always had the wide vocal range even in her early career she just didn’t work on it or utilise it till 2014/15 that’s all. I think it’s clear she was/is a little monster, but unlike Sam or Cardi she hasn’t found her own sound whilst being stans

Ava never said she wasn't inspired by Gaga. She even appreciated the fact that she is even being compared to her and called her a legend.

I think its more of a fact that Ava was inspired by Britney, Christina and all the other female singers she listed more than Gaga. And that's actually okay. You may not see it, but she does, and that's all that matters. She doesn't deserve hate since she hasn't done anything wrong. She isn't bashing anyone or anything....

I'm sure she isn't inspired by Gaga though. It's just her label and her creative team forcing that Gaga-esque junk on her.

I want to make it clear that I don't hate Ava Max. I always thought this fanbase does the most with her.

I find her to be entertaining, and I think for a brief time she kept the flame of theatrical pop alive, as nobody else was interested in that sound at the moment. For that, I appreciate her.

But fact remains that she is extremely derivative of Lady GaGa, and her denying her as her main influence not only is unethical, but low-key insulting to everyone's intelligence, I mean :laughga:. I'll give you an example:

In the 90's, Theatre Of Tragedy single handedly shaped and defined contemporary Gothic Metal as we know it today. Naturally after their debut, countless bands jumped on the train and essentially "stole" their sound.

Some of which I respect, and some of which I don't. Among the ones I respect, we have Tristania, who always admitted their influence, and always responded with honesty when asked about it: "Yes, we admit the influence, but we're of course trying to do our own thing, we're not trying to copy anyone". BRAVO, that's all they had to say.

And then we have clowns like Myriads, who like Ava, passionately evaded mentioning Theatre Of Tragedy as their influence. Even when directly confronted about by journalists, they just came up with mental gymnastics to try and suggest they just came up with that sound on their own :air: .

And girl, #BYE, you stole Theatre Of Tragedy's sound, just, stop :madge:

And as much as I always try to defend Ava, because I do NOT think that her "borrowing" GaGa's sound is a bad thing, I DO roll my eyes when she does clownery like this. Because at the end of the day, she doesn't sounds or looks like Britney or Mariah.

She straight up looks and sounds like Lady GaGa. So I have no time for her to play dumb on interviews being like: "My biggest influences are Aretha Franklin, The Power Rangers, and Dora the Explorer", like, bitch, #BYE we know who your main influence is, give me a break :sharon:

I understand it must be annoying for her to always be compared to someone else, but she could always be like Tristania and say: "Yes, I am of course influenced by Lady GaGa, but I have a lot of other influences too; I just love theatrical pop, and that big, bold sound, and of course my intention is to do my own thing, I'm building my own sound on the genre". An HONEST response like that, and she'd have my full support.

But she INSISTS with this "My biggest influence is Mariah" joke, and like, girl, we're too old for tales, she needs to stop :ladyhaha:.
