He can but with someone as extreme as Tr*mp, it can make relationships complicated because that man directly harms women, sexual assault survivors (while being an attacker himself) and the LGBTQ+ community, all of which apply to Gaga. Not to mention that most of her team/friends/extended family aka people she cares deeply about are POC, a group that is also badly affected by Tr*mp's policies and ofc most of them are LGBTQ+ as well. So to many people in the States it is inexcusable for a friend or relative to vote for someone who directly threatens your mere existence, that of your friends or just people (especially minority groups) in general.

That being said I can totally see his support of Tr*mp causing a rift between them. But she also cares deeply about her family and her parents specifically so it's probably a complicated topic for her as it is for many people in the US.

But he still voted by most of the Americans to get to that place. That say, if someone feels uncomfortable with him then it’s indeed one’s neighbors, friends and even family that contributed to that consequence.

so is it common for ppl to distance from or split with others base on this situation? Did American falling apart severely since his presidency?

it is serious issue in here. And yes, family members have been cutting ties with each other cos they voted For Trump. Because his campaign for this current presidency are nothing to be compromise for.

Thank you for finding me this. You are so sweet. Actually I love watching House of Cards and I don’t think there are perfect elections or political systems not matter they look good or bad outside. There must be so many things going on behind the scene that we could never know. 
 

Since I live in socialism so I quite envy you can speak out your voice on political issues. Unlike us that we can’t even speak HIS name here and i can’t even publicly criticize my country which might lead to block out from friends and coworkers. They told me I can leave my county and kiss American’s ass. Sad.

No, Trump lost the popular vote by over 3 million. Hilary Clinton would have been our president if the popular vote was what actually mattered. We have this archaic system called the Electoral College that chooses the president, independent of what the people actually vote for. It's messed up.

In my opinion, it makes sense. Think about it. If you had someone you loved and missed who had a lot of money, would you wanna seem like you didn't care about them and ask for some of their millions? Call them like "Hey I love you, can I have some MONEY?" He probably didn't want to get her involved with his problem.
