The delay came the day after I lost my job, indefinitely due to COVID-19. The fear and panic was being minimized because I kept telling myself “Chromatica is coming on the 10th, and you’ll have a whole new album from Gaga” and “At least you’ve got Chromatica”. I got an iMessage from Tim on Tuesday morning about the delay and I immediately spiraled mentally. It wasn’t the reason or the fact it got delayed, it was because we don’t have a new date for reassurance. The only thing that saved me was for the last 2 days the weather has been amazing and I’ve gotten to spend time outside in the sun. Don’t let anyone on this forum ridicule or minimize your feelings. Yes, it's not the biggest thing in the world, but when someone has some form of mental condition like depression, anxiety, etc. things hit different. Especially if Gaga was part of your coping mechanism, when you lose it it's hard not to feel lost. Of course the best thing you should do is search for a healthier and more stable form of coping that doesn't center about one person, but that doesn't mean your feelings aren't real or that they are ridiculous, and making fun of people for their feelings (that aren't even harming you) is a terrible thing to do. Gaga has a long history of flakiness and cancelling something and not making amends with it. Postponing a highly anticipated album is triggering with that in mind. That’s probably the realization we all needed that we’re overly obsessed with her music. I know she helped us through so much, but we can’t count on her to save us from all the agony and pain in the world. She’s not the goddess we need her to be, she’s human, and it’s time for us to finally accept it and to get professional help for our mental health instead of expecting a pop album to fix everything for us (obviously not every little monster but the crazy ones like yoü and I) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
