Ok you guys so I’m fresh from listening to the album. And I gotta say, as someone who has been hyping this up so much since Physical floored me, I feel like such a clown :flop: It was... alright. It was ok. I feel the same thing I felt for the debut. It’s ok.

Future Nostalgia 10/10 - Really good introduction, I love the chorus and the post-chorus, very groovy and dancey.

Don’t Start Now 10/10 - Also amazing, deserves all its success. The baseline is killer, the disco instrumental breakdown is killer, everything is killer about this song.

Cool 6/10 - It has great production but that’s it. If anything, the prechorus gets you hyped and throws you into an underwhelming chorus. It’s ok.

Physical 10000/10 - This is so so so good, one of the best songs of 2020. The chorus is so heavenly and it’s just so incredible it makes me wanna cry, it’s that good.

Levitating 7/10 - It’s fine. Dancey and groovy, but forgettable. I had to listen to it again right now bc I had forgotten what it sounded like.

Pretty Please 7/10 - Nice bassline, incredibly underwhelming overall.

Hallucinate 9/10 - Pretty great song, the production is incredible, has a very club feel to it. It’s the non-single that impressed me the most for sure.

Love Again 6/10 - Another one I forgot what it sounded like and had to check out again. It’s also just fine. Don’t know what else to say other than ok.

Break My Heart 10/10 - This one actually grew on me a lot since I heard the leak. Very groovy as well, very upbeat and fun.

Good In Bed 2/10 - It was alright until the chorus hits. Dear mother of Judas that was atrocious. It’s literally earrape, it was so painful to listen to. I don’t give it a 1 or a 0 bc the verses are not that bad and I like the bubble sound in the chorus. That’s it. Overall awful song.

Boys Will Be Boys 7/10 - Pretty odd song, doesn’t fit at all into the album, and as a closer it feels even more odd. But it was nice.

Overall I’d give it a 7.5/10 maybe. It would be lower if it wasn’t for the singles. It’s just, like I said before a lot, nice. Alright. Meh. I stand by my word that this era was an improvement for Dua, she really served everywhere. Except on the album :neyde:

I really don’t get the massive praise. Like where? It’s so basic, what saves it is that it has a retro feel which makes it seem like it has a unifying theme and sound but other than that it really is mostly basic and forgettable. I don’t know if people are just thirsty for classic pop jams, bc wow was this made seen like a masterpiece game-changing album. It’s her first album but with less songs and a disco vibe. That’s what this is.

I’m so disappointed, I was so hyped and excited for this album and now I feel so played :bradley: The singles really were leaps above the rest of the album. I’m such a clown for hyping this to hell and back. I normally like what most like, but wow do I feel like y’all listened to a different album. And to some putting it at the same level as masterpieces like TFM, what is the matter with you? :selena:

No, I’m worried if this ends up being the best album of the year (although it already isn’t bc After Hours) but still. If nothing better comes out I’m really worried.

Well that was an unexpected twist huh? I still can’t believe I really didn’t like this that much. And y’all didn’t help with your infinite praises. I’m so mad and sad and disappointed bc I had insane expectations and none of them were met. Is the bar really that low?

But anyways, good luck to Dua, she’s a wonderful human being and she deserves success. But I guess this was confirmation she’s just too basic for me. I thought this album would change that but no. God I’m so disappointed I can’t :bradley:

I enjoyed the album, but I have to confess I'm not crazy about it, or about Dua in general  I know it might be an unpopular opinion, and I do agree she's great at what she does, but she's just not my cup of tea. I really like Physical though, and I think she deserves the success she's having. I'll keep listening with interest, as an average fan

The gays usually hype anything that is danceable up to the roof like it's the next coming of Jesus Christ. Then a couple of weeks later some people move on from that to the next popular pop album/single. I've seen that happen SO many times that yeah, I don't believe it when I see them hyping an album the first couple of days it's out.

I actually really like Future Nostalgia. I do agree that Physical is one of the best pop songs to come out in recent years. I also didn't really care about the last 2 songs, they were kind of meh, especially for an 11 track album.

I don't get how people tend to prefere Hallucinate over Levitating. Omg Levitating is suuuuch a booop, so groovy, so funky, so fresh... Makes me wanna dance on the beach with the summer sunlight.

The album is solid. Don't Stark Now and Physical have been proper single choices. Levitating is a one of the highs, if not the height. Love Again is great, so are Pretty Please and Hallucinate. Boys Will Be Boys is a apt closer. However, the acclaim it is receiving is not solely due to it's objective quality, but because of the subjective context of the world. What I'm saying is that that album is great, but not as groundbreaking or near-perfect as some are claiming. :lolga:

Like, LBR, it is not just the gays this time. Majority of people who hears it praises it. Sure, you can say they are locals, have no taste, blah blah blahs, but those stuck up music critics loves this album too. And they are known to be very stuck up over pop artists.

It is not bar set low, but some of you might set it too high. Try to think about it for a second.
