Didymus 34,380 Posted March 27, 2020 Share Posted March 27, 2020 I'm disinclined to agree with that interpretation Imo she's popular because people still want to listen to pop music but they don't want to be pandered to or made to feel like they're listening to someone who's trying too hard. Dua Lipa is a brand for people who just want to enjoy easy-on-the-ear feel-good radio pop without feeling like they're childishly listening to a "pop star" pur sang. She has the easy breezy cool factor people want rn, especially as a necesssary contrast to Billie's momentum. Plus, Don't Start Now and Physical are rad.
