I just need people to stop acting like they're scientists and stop blaming each other (US blaming china...China blaming America...)

This is a virus from nature, it wasn't made in a lab and the only thing we know for sure is that it came from wuhan.

Still, its origin doesn't give us the right to act like freaking xenophobes and act like animals. Today, china has only 3'000 infected people, in the west we're getting that number of cases every day.

I'm not the biggest fan of china , however let's not let our political opinions affect our judgement.

india absolutely cannot report the cases accurately, like the US can

:lmao:

The US is accurately reporting cases? Lol ok.

The US has a shortage of tests just like India does. They're reporting their numbers with full transparency. I know about both India and the US personally. I have family living in India and I live in the US.

And you? What are your sources?

Someone told me China lost 22 million cellphone users in the past few months. Now I ain't no conspiracy theorist but that honestly spooked me out.

We all know China is a dictatorship with one of the most brainwashed government in history and the worst human rights in existence. Lets also not forget they ban many websites and that they have lied numerous times before. I find it VERY unnerving that so many phone users are suddenly gone.

It's not as densely populated though. The situation could've been managed much better and earlier

India is 1 billion people and is even densely populated but is yet to have such high numbers.

Yeah and you know why? Because they don’t test even half as many people as America Sis

Economic crisis means people cut subscription costs first, especially given that mobile data has been pretty useless these past months for Chinese people.

I think the Chinese numbers are somewhat accurate, or at least more accurate than (for example) Italy's numbers.

Technically Europe is still the epicenter, because the whole of Europe and the USA are roughly the same size. Also, the USA Isn't spreading the same way. Over half of the cases in USA are being found in and around New York City. New York City and Europe are similar in their mass use of public transportation, and extremely dense populations. Outside of the NOrtheast, around NEw York, America's population is not comparable to Asia or Europe as in most people aren't living in densely populated areas. MOst people in America do not take public transportation and aren't typically gathered in large popu;ations. You can expect the number to increase significantly in and around New York due to weeks of trains, subways, and people living super close to each other, exposing each other. New Orleans carried on Mardi Gras, and a lot of people got exposed. Spring break, and the elderly population of Florida have caused a lot of cases there. Spread elsewhere, will be considerably difficult in much of the US compared to Europe, though cases will continue to rise as testing is more and more availible. Most states are controlling their own mini-epicenters with lock downs, and social distancing,- this will make a smaller peak in those areas.

The US can report them MORE accurately than India but no country has the ability to report them all

And definitely the US is not at the top of reporting given South Korea was able to administer as many tests in 1 day as America in a week :rip:

I have my doubts about your theory. The municipalities with the (relatively speaking) most cases in my country barely have a train station. They got hit hardest because people from a few villages happened to be at a celebration in a bigger city, and apparently it spread quicklier than it did in the bigger city. The places that got hit hardest in Italy aren't per se the connected cities either.

What I do think is that the virus will start spreading earlier on in places where many people from different places meet, mostly big cities. Day 1, the virus starts spreading in Europe. Day 5, the virus starts spreading in New York. Day 9, the virus starts spreading in big cities in the US and New York's suburbs. Day 13, suburbs of the big cities get hit. Day 18, and rural counties get hit. The high number of cases in New York is because it's a globalized city where people from all around the world meet, which gave the virus more time to spread in New York than in other places. If the first spreader of the virus in the US happened to have been in a rural place rather than New York, then that place would seem the worst hit. But the probability of the first spreader going to a big city is much, much higher (tourism, business) than that person going to a rural village.

This all also does not mean that the transmission rate is higher in a big, crowded city than in a smaller place. Population density and mass gatherings are likely offset by the fact that people in bigger cities are more likely to live in single households, whereas more suburban (don't know about rural) communities are more likely to be families. Families in big cities with children are also likely to have less children per household. Once one person in a household is infected, you can be pretty much certain the rest gets it, too, leading to a higher transmission rate.

Whether more rural places in the US will be affected less or more pretty much entirely depends on how they use the information from a place like New York about effective measures and good timing to their advantage. If they take enough days for the virus to spread without locking down, they'll be hit just as bad.
