First sentence, I don't agree with. If Gaga wanted to make this sound, she could. She chooses not to and that's fine. Second part, totally agree.

Now we should compare Gaga and Dua. I keep silent about the fact that one of them is very talented :madge:

Only one is an icon and iconoclast, only one changed the face of the modern pop market, only one had galvanized political, cultural, and artistic discourse around the globe...and the other is realizing a pretty solid retro-disco album. Pop culture really is that fickle bitch, huh?

I am going to reach but not too far. Let me start off by saying that I am rooting and always rooting for Gaga.

I was just listening to Dua's new singles and watching her new videos. Dua did this whole colored tribe thing for the Physical video. At the end of the video, all of the different colored tribes are dancing together. Maybe just a coincidence? Regardless, Gaga always puts her own spin on whatever she may be inspired by. Loving both videos for Stupid Love and Physical. Thoughts?

Well, for one, Dua's pushing her album release up early because the album leaked in full. If they don't release it sooner, nobody's gonna buy the damn album. People would stream it, but it would lose a lot of extra streams from pop fans whom were curious and wanting to listen to it for the first time, but won't because they already listened to the leak.

Dua said that she was conflicted about releasing the album at this time because she didn't think it's the right time, that was partly the reason why she was crying. She was being forced to release it.

What Dua has done with DSN in part especially the bridge before the last chorus with the cut off beats and words is what Gaga did with I Want Your Love. That track is comparably much more disco than Dua's songs that she has released thus far. But what resonated with you mfs is that it's more updated with pop elements for public consumption that IWYL.

And no, I don't agree with that reviewer that this is the sound that Gaga was chasing for years. Gaga crafted her music with EDM. Not disco. I'm gonna listen to FN when it's released and decide if it is what y'all been raving about because most of the time, what the average pop fans have always raved about is really not as good as they say it is. Even Madge's older albums were better than those you guys were always raving about in the current pop landscape.

I mean, I would say it's more like: "Dua Lipa finds the sound that Lady Gaga needed."

Am I wrong?

Critics overrate pop stars these days.  This is headed for a 80+ metacritic score despite being the 2020s version of Teenage Dream (which was far better btw)

So five number 1 singles?

Unnecessary shade. To not be able to write a simple music review without putting two women against each other, whether for clout or lack of references, is trash journalism.

I know. I've never seen bands being compared to another band in their reviews like....what does people have that they have to compare pop women?
