Yall can come for me but I honestly believe that there is a vaccine for Corona already, it’s just not being shared yet because there would be too much of a high demand for it. With every man made illness/virus there’s always a vaccine created with it.

I think it may be far-fetched because a vaccine takes a year or more to make...

Lmao you think our reptilian overlords will let this go on for 18 months? They’ll find some miracle treatment or way to contain it soon and the worst will be over.

:what: Of course that was the whole point of my comment. I didn't need an explanation of my own comment.

But you're addressing it as if the OP is talking about the whiners too. OP is actually complaining about the non-whiners :bradley:

The music industry will make a deal with the global community to let Adele release her album in September and temporarily allow tv shows and concert halls to reopen.

We know that COVID-19 will not be entirely eradicated. It will most likely turn into a seasonal virus like the flu. The problem now is to flatten the curve as to not overwhelm hospitals more than they already are.

The Olympics was postponed in conjunction with athletes stating they will not have time to train for it.

We don't know how the situation will look in a few months. We do know that it won't be entirely over and we probably need to change our patterns of behaviour. But what the Western world hasn't done that has been proven effective is quick lockdowns, extensive people tracing and quarantining of people. Singapore is a good example of containment of the virus. The West have been too slow in acting against the virus and as such there will be an abundance of cases. We won't stay in lockdown for 12-18 months but we might as well see restrictions stay put during such a time-span.

I think they are currently testing 5 different vaccines apart from the vaccine that is being made in the US. Some malaria vaccine seem promising. I know in Sweden they are testing a vaccine that was initially made for Ebola but it was too weak to attack it [Ebola].

The Hubei province (minus Wuhan) is slowing being let out and China is starting to return to some normalcy, so I think it is important to keep an eye on if the virus will take another foothold there. But it will most likely take the West longer as they are handling this badly. During these times some autocracy is needed. Finland just shut down a province (the one Helsinki is in) to limit the spread to the rest of the country. Sweden, Finland and Norway could surely benefit from all big city regions closing as there are many people living in rural villages and so far they seem largely unaffected.

The thing with this virus is that it can be killed by soap and water. People need to learn how to wash their hands and keep good hygiene. 4 out of 5 people do not wash their hands after going to the bathroom according to WaterAid

COVID-19 is not airborne. It is spread by droplets. Spread like wildfire in Italy because of cheek kisses, and most likely bad hygiene. It's not yet known how much it actually spreads through materia such as surfaces. We know it's mostly through personal contact. Keep washing those hands and keep a six feet distance!

There is no way the album will be held off to when the virus is completely over. If you think a completed album recorded by a mega successful artist that was due to be released in little over 2 weeks is going to be left on the shelf until 2021 or 2022, you clearly don't know record labels. If the situation shows no sign of improving, they'll release the album no matter how bad things are because there now is no "right time" to release it as the world will be on fire for a long time. Artists aren't just going to stop releasing music in all this time. They have to earn their money. You have nothing to worry about, we'll get the album some time this year.

Ok, people who think that the full lockdown will last longer than 2 months need to chill

Like, do you even realize the implications? It isn't even possible.

There's so many people working in the service industry + in factories that produce stuff for currently closed stores and barely any country (if any) has the financial capacities to pay each worker in these jobs a respectable salary for a longer period of time (if they would even try to do that)

+ there are countries that completely rely on tourism

+ people working in transportation, television, live performers

+ people who don't have the possibilities of attending online classes from schools/universities etc etc

At some point everything has to open again or you'll have gigantic amount of poverty, unemployment and a big economic crash

No one has the intentions of completely eradicating it in the next year, it's all about flattening the curve in the next months so that hospitals aren't overwhelmed

It will be a year to 18 months for it to be over because thats time frame for a vaccine. Realistically we will likely be dealing with it for some time but we can potentially be in a more manageable spot in 4 months. We don't know what it will be like then but we know its bad right now.
