That’s not who The Weeknd is as an artist. It’s not boring, it’s just not your style.

Why are you bringing the sexism card? Lana's and Bjork album are acclaim too. Then people expect feminist to be taken seriously when they come with this ****? What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

I mean TFM remains one of the most praised pop albums of the century. It’s just on that site specifically that she’s never had a score over 78. Metacritic is not just a "site" like Pitchfork etc.. It's an aggregator site, meaning the number you're seeing is made up of all critics' reviews

Tell me Heartless and In Your Eyes sound the same. Tell me Faith and Save Your Tears sound the same. Tell me the Interlude sounds like Scared To Live. No. Sis, i’m not bashing it but the 80s theme is very present in every song and every song sounds moody. I personally tried to get into him several times but just found him depressing. I won’t say he makes bad music but i think we can all agree he doesn’t vary a lot

Each song is moody and 80s inspired. Pop music is the genre that varies the most since it can take a lot from every other genre so i really wouldn’t say that. Like e.g ARTPOP is pop-EDM and Joanne is pop-Country/Rock etc... ofc there are going to be artists like Ava that always release the same cute basic pop song but whatever

I mean, The Fame Monster has a score of 78 but based on only 14 reviews.
ChromatiGa 467
Calling an album a Stranger Things soundtrack just because it has dark synths shows how much one knows about music. Stranger Things has mostly darkwave and these songs are dreamwave/outrun. But whatever. No shade.

zakariah 11,722
well deserved sadly, I can't seem to get into the first half of the album, but I do like the second half, I guess it's just my musical preference. but my fav album of his is still Starboy, that sh!t hit different. But sis why do you feel the need to reply to anyone who has an opinion on this album If the man was bored, the man was bored. You can't tell him he wasn't bored And stop with this rhetoric that if we don't like it it means we're pop fans who only listen to four on the floor beats and epic choruses. Most people on this site also stan artists like Lana, whose music is much closer to Abel's. Not to sound like a snob but among others I listen to Haydn and Mozart and they're the farthest thing from what you just described, and they're much less boring than most pop songs, and Abel's album. But that's just my opinion. chaeri pls
