What he's saying though is true but applies to all albums, artists and genres. Yes, people don't listen to "albums" these days, they'd probably buy the songs they like or listen to them only. it's old he was referring to reputation. It sure was cool to hate on ha Musery

It sure was cool to hate on ha I think the same applies for 2017, reputation had the biggest opening week. Well, at least Taylor is still selling albums and not just singles like 90% of the modern music industry.
Guest
What is his basing this statement from? What's your source? Pop is always popular and will remain popular for a long time if it wasn't popular Ariana would be done right now, Dua Lipa would be over a long time ago. Who's this guy anyways
Guest
27 minutes ago, Davian said: Well, this was specifically about Taylor. Like when the radio host said "I haven't listened to her album yet", he says "no one has". Who is "no one" though? It reminds me of this rapper who said "nobody listened to Eminem's new album" when in fact it became diamond or platinum in a few weeks. So that stems from pettiness and jealousy. "She sells out stadiums it's a dream for every artist BUT" thats when the jealousy begins. Im not Swift superfan but it's just obvious.
Daylight Jokers 14,958
I'd expect an A-lister (or a legend/someone who's been in the industry for more than 10-30 years and is still relevant) to say such thing...not Bazzi.

It's a very trend oriented genre with little loyalty in the GP. When an artist dies off like Katy Perry those listens concentrate on someone else There are some genres like rock and alternative that don't have any big number of them dominating enough to an"it" girl or "it" guy on the charts But ppl who listen to those genres usually have a bigger number of bands and artists they follow and listen to and the success is not as heavily concentrated on a few The heavy concentration in Pop and top 40 for a few artists I think makes the genre bigger than it appears to be However what he said applies more to the genre. Going on an individual to individual artist he cannot say people don't listen to her albums because she's consistently a top performer
sethrb101 4,523
This is so dumb. Sure, the GP at large doesn't listen to pop albums. But no more than people listen to full albums of other genres?
