I think the tribes represent the things we need to "fight" for.

More like we need to fight our government officials than anything. 

 

At least in the US. If you look at each and every proposal that the majority of american people agree on (medicare for all, gun reform, etc) and if you look at how long we have been trying to get legislation passed for these items (single-payer since JFK and guns for decades and decades), you would see that the reason things don't get passed is that the politicians are funded by interests that don't want those things passed. So, effectively, they are bought by corporate and special interests. The only way we progress as a nation is if we combat that. The only way we do that is for the american people to actually unify instead of allowing themselves to be divided by political party and affiliation. (:
