I mean, it was inevitable. The longer countries will wait before enforcing complete confinement, the longer this is gonna last.

The Netherlands is going for herd immunity and I think that will be the best for our country.

wow so they expect this to go on until May? that's... saddening to say the least

Gurl they expect this to be at its worst for the next 4-6 months. Abs that doesn’t mean right after that everything is back to normal, this whole year is gone be a hot mess.

Trump just told the country that this could go into July/August. It most likely won't, but that'll only discourage people more now.

The UK said in their country it could stay until spring 2021

I read this as spring 2020 and I was like okay, that's basically already here..

Then I realized.. :saladga: That's terrible. :(

The virus wil probably be here for a long time at least this year, maybe even into the next. But the biggest wave of infections is expected to hit within the next few weeks, because not enough was done (or known) to prevent spreading.

After that big wave, the spreading will continue but it will be more manageable since we have more of a grip on the situation, and because more people will be immune. This is under the assumtion that proper precautions are being taken by the population. At that point it'll still be important to be safe all the time, but I don't expect we all need to stay in isolation for that entire period. That last bit might be wishful thinking on my part, but nothing can be confirmed yet.

This is based on what I know from The Netherlands.

Some scientists say the virus is too aggressive to rely on herd immunity, and if the UK uses that strategy, we're looking towards hundreds of thousands of deaths.... Hope it will work out for your country, be careful.
