Yes, it’s all fact but pieced by piece. Gaga wanted to premiere the lead at the VMAs. Interscope was ok with this, but MTV did not want the song to be Burqa as they did not want politics at the ceremony. So they made Interscope force Gaga to chop and change the song, until Gaga ended up with Aura. But still the VMAs would not allow the *performance* that Gaga wanted (it was macabre, and had drones and blood and other weird sh*t) even though they were ok with the *song*. So Interscope decided with Applause instead, which rendered Gaga’s original performance idea obsolete.
