I have a lot of friends who are university professors, and all of them have been told they'll be transitioning to online teaching for the rest of the semester. Keep in mind that Trump might be imposing domestic travel restrictions, so if you want to travel, better to do it now than later. You can't be the only student at your school in this situation.  oh i’m in canada sorry forgot to mention! My schools in Quebec which as the lowest number and so far it seems admin is optimistic about reopening. no definitely not the only student haha, but half my friends are staying and half are leaving and idk which camp has got it right

Hope you're well now.
PetrichorRush 1
Everyone around me keeps talking about how they're gonna try to do everything to avoid it. The majority of us will get it. That's already confirmed. What matters is the pattern of the infection - we need to spread out the time period of the infection so as to not overwhelm public health services with an overload of cases at once. Unfortunately, I suspect that's wishful thinking.

SamanthaC 84,932
Our schools have now closed for a minimum of two weeks. I have a workday Monday and Tuesday, and I'm not really sure what is going to be expected of us. We cannot do total digital learning because our students do not have devices or internet access. There is some speculation we could be out for an extended time, like to the end of the school year. On Friday, we were told by our district we would only close if there was a case, but the governor issued an executive order to close all schools in the state. There was also a ban on gatherings of 100 people or more. The guideline for that was issued on Thursday and Billie Eilish went ahead with her concert, and the governor all but called her out on it without using her name in his address Saturday. I'm a bit anxious for what to do with my school. So many of my students rely on the school to get food, and this was a concern of why they didn't want to close. They are coming up with creative ways to get children food.  (I'm in North Carolina in the US.) she/her/hers

Zander 14,714
The daily coverage of the amount of new cases getting reported is totally irrelevant, imo (because there's many more cases than what's being reported anyway), and all that is doing is adding to the panic amongst everyone else. Which is why I've started to pay no attention to it. Anybody who is anxious needs to remember that the fatality rates are what they are because not enough people are getting tested, if more people were getting tested than the rates would definitely be lower. LadariousGarage 1
Also, numbers, especially US numbers for cases/deaths may be unreliable, differant sources are reporting differant things, and due to lack of testing in the US, Coronavirus cases are likely MUCH higher than what is being reported And, your typical cold symptoms are very rare in Coronavirus cases, so stop overflowing health helplines asking if your cold symptoms mean you have Coronavirus, chances are its just a cold. LadariousGarage 1
And if you can, which I know alot of people on this site can't, please donate blood, especially if you live in a area with alot of Coronavirus cases, Hospitals are running dangerously low on blood (and Platelets) chances are you will not get it at the facitilties where they donate blood, they are kept very clean, and Coronavirus is not transmittable by blood. Queen Bitch 10,513
In Denmark they have stopped testing anyone that isn't seriously ill. The official number of infected is 864, but obviously the real number is much higher since they haven't tested anyone for two days.

WheresMy911Alice 20,680
What's frustrating about the US (besides having a moron as a "president" ) is that there aren't enough testing kits so even people who need to be tested cannot ( and I know it's probably worse elsewhere) There are so many people not taking it serious here in Portland, OR but what they don't realize is we literally BORDER the two states with the highest number of cases in the country, Washington and California. It's just a matter of time before it gets worse here. Sending love and health to you all ! 💗
