A mutation is, and that could've happened anywhere including in the US where people frequently shake hands, touch handles, etc. And of course, some people still spit on the roads and cough in their hands Many countries trail China in hygiene and there isn't an outbreak happening in those places. China has made faults and should answer for that. But let's give them credit where it's due and remember things are complex. It's more complicated than "China is dirty and careless, so they infected the world." Not only did COVID-19 start in a Wuhan market, but China have tried to suppress the truth and are now trying to blame another country for it. It's disgraceful. This disease was not designed in a lab; there is nothing to be gained from it. Coronavirus is result of poor hygiene standards and questionable eating habits in a country that, let's face it, has also been the source of other viruses in the past. Zhao is referring to a conspiracy theory that has been floating around Chinese social media for weeks. The theory is based on the fact that 300 athletes from the U.S. military attended the 7th Military World Games in Wuhanin October — the city where months later the global pandemic originated.
