Do you think Gaga is sad to have started Chromatica now?

Many sources have reported that Chromatica was originally due for a 2020 release.

If this is true (which a lot of evidence points to) - do you think Gaga regrets pushing it back to the schedule we're in now?

This era, so far, has been a lot of trouble for Gaga.

We had the leaks, and now the era finds itself in the context of the worst public health crisis in a generation.

Promo schedules have changed, Gaga can't do any in-person promo and she can't connect with fans in the way she usually does during an era.

The world / media isn't so focused on pop culture and music right now.

And Gaga herself doesn't seem to be in a 'new era' mode - for obvious reasons, of course.

She seemed quite sad during the NRJ interview, even getting emotional at how much her fans mean to her.

This era feels like it might be tainted and held back by the virus. And I know it's not the biggest worry in the grand scheme of things, but as a fan, it does sadden me that a Gaga era is starting in such a turbulent time.

And, of course, commercially, the era could be damaged. Physical sales will be lower and general ticket sales could be impacted, too, as large public gatherings are being avoided by the GP. And the lack of traditional promo could decrease sales and hype, too.

I hope Gaga is well and that she's not feeling sad about how this era is starting off. Hopefully, she can feel positive about the album and promote it in a way that's safe and healthy for her. I just hope she's not wishing she had either released the album earlier, or delayed it further. I'd hate to think that she feels she's releasing music at the wrong time.

Spoiler

This thread is not intended to criticise Gaga, btw. I feel for her that a project she clearly loves is being pushed out into the world  at a difficult time.

I'm also not complaining at the lack of promo, either. I would rather she not travel the world and risk her health, of course.

Hopefully she will see it as a way to “dance through the pain” and lift the spirits of people through the power of music and color, her Chromatica can mean anything.

No, I think she will be genuinely happy to have people enjoy her new music as an escape from the constant media onslaught and the fear and unease of this pandemic.

I think she wasn’t really planning to go out much anyway :selena: Y’all do realize she still has fibro right? Why should she go spend a month flying around the world when all she really needs is digital promo and maybe some phone interviews with radios.

If people are quarantined in their homes they have more time to stream the album, so this was the perfect time!

Obviously kidding, but on the bright side, at least her music can take us away from an ugly reality. That's what music is supposed to be for.

I'm sure she's unhappy and worried in general about the state of the world, like we all are.

But I imagine she has a more rueful view of her own timing, like "our dumb luck lol" kind of thing.

And she tries to have a accepting/spiritual view of things I think, like what is meant to be will be. Hopefully she can find the silver lining that her music can bring people joy in times of stress. Her sort of messaging so far about the album has been "dancing through the pain", and ironically that mentality is more and more relevant every day.

I love how someone has finally addressed that due to the pandemia, she is not doing any sort of public appearance and promo besides the digital ones. I didn't think about that possibility after many countries closing down schools and cancelling meetings and concerts and stuff. Of course it saddens her to have an era in such a moment of crisis, but not only because of the album/era being in risk but because people are worried, paranoid, she may be worried for her loved ones and she cares so much about humanity that any bad news about the COVID-19 makes her sad. I hope all of this mess passes by quickly though

Gaga seems to me like the type of person who would say "everything happens for a reason" and with the way things have turned out that reason might be what ThatBinch said above -- her music will make people feel happy and connected during a time of fear and social distancing.

I'm sure she has complicated emotions about it -- it's her artistry and work of the last several years being rolled out -- but I think that will be the 'bigger picture' she settles on.

I honestly think this is the perfect time for CHROMATICA 💖 She even said herself, she wanted to create an album that brings people joy + makes them want to dance.

It seems like exactly what the world needs right now 🙏🏼

Her music has always comforted me and will bring joy to a lot of peoples lives. I've always believed that positivity and happiness will make your body happy too. Whenever I've been stressed or anxious for long periods of time is when I've become sick

Chromatica will live on forever.

I think the schedule would have been pushed back even more if the fans weren't being so overzealous. Things seem a little rushed in my opinion.

I'm sure she does feel some type of way about promoting and album with so much going on in the world.

I don't disagree but for ASIB she was doing exactly that, so why not for Chromatica
