The very same article says the below:.

AB InBev estimates the earnings hit across China after seeing around £221 million of lost sales in the first two months of 2020 alone due to coronavirus – also known as Covid-19. The Belgium-based group said: “The impact of the Covid-19 virus outbreak on our business continues to evolve.

But that includes almost ALL OTHER MAJOR BEERS, not the CORONA EXTRA. Omg stop falling for fake clickbaits.
There is really no substantial association that has resulted in a financial hit between the virus with this specific brand of beer.

"The world’s biggest brewing giant, which is behind the Corona, Budweiser and Stella Artois brands, forecast first quarter earnings will tumble by about 10% after the virus outbreak saw demand slump in China as it also coincided with the Chinese New Year, sending its shares 8% lower."

I agree this is so clickbait, in Australia everyone is still drinking Corona.

UK's Independent too posted this which is very reputed so I believed in it as they too are saying this has been confirmed by CEO of the company.

I'd expect all beer sales to be down regardless of the name... but lol.

The title of your article is clickbait. They never corroborate in the actual article that there is any meaningful association. They just said "corona beer lost money because of the virus", which is a fact, but it baited people to the conclusion that it was because of the name of the beer. When in reality, all beers suffered drop in sales.

Are y’all reading the same article I read? Cause the one I read says the drop is because China’s consumption decreased :triggered:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

It's the same as title of the article and is specifically mentioned in OP that it's because of decrease in consumption. And I haven't edited anything except the last few words I added about people being stupids.

Well duh, I saw your quote.

But it had nothing to do with people being stupid. Celebrations and gatherings are cancelled THUS less beer was consumed.

There were few reports showing that this brand was having specific hit on its sales due to its name. And I updated it based on replies of members in first page.
