Aw thx Part of me is delighted it's not even going to be on ARTPOP, because it points to the whole album being a confusing experiment we won't understand while it's happening. Maybe the soundpuzzles are going to get more and more complicated until she has us start making songs ourselves. After all, she always said she wanted to "destroy" pop culture... She's always walked that tightrope of wry and genuine, sometimes nailing both at the same, even in lower-profile experiments like "Princess High / Stache." Doesn't anyone see the humor in Lady freakin' Gaga belting "cannabiiiis!" to millions of music-starved fans to an undeniable pop hook? It's catchy and irresponsible, music-loving and hilarious. That contradiction is what made Gaga a critical favorite and a superstar in the first place. Sometimes I'm so confused by this place This. Forever this. I will take as many "appetizers" like this as Gaga decides to give us. I think Stache and Cake are both hysterical and catchy as hell. GaGa is not going to give us perfect tracks now. That would only set us up for disappointment when we get the album. By giving us things, that she knows are not at their best, she is confident that we will appreciate the music on ARTPOP even more. This, exactly.
