SharkmanthaC 111,906
I hope that no one is offended by this question because I mean it in the most honest way possible. I was discussing this with some other friends from here, and I'm really curious to know others' thoughts as well. I know that with BTW that LGBTQ+ was pulled to Gaga, but I'm wondering even before that. What was it/is it that attracts LGBTQ+ to Gaga? What was it in the early years that made you a fan and made you continue to be fan? I think it's a great sociology type discussion and makes me want to go continue reading my book from @gagafrontrow. Spoiler I should add that I was watching my weekly viewing of TMB 2.0 which made me think about this. she/her/hers
RAMROD 107,493
She started her career from performing in drag clubs when Just Dance was just released and before it got popular a year after its initial release. The community have started rooting for her since then on.
Guest Blue Madonna
+ side question, why do we stan harder than most straights? you won't see most straight rap fans getting as into their favourite rapper as we do with our favourite artists.
Gardevoir 9,811
she's very non-comforming and not hetero-normative in any way. also she's a weirdo and have been bullied herself. and a lot of gays were kind of outcasts in some parts of their lives, so they perfectly relate. Music-wise, pop music is generally loved by gay people, even more than other genres so there's why female popstars (such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus etc.) use to have large gay fanbases. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
GaGaAst 13,020
Her illuminati contract . Mainly because of her songs and videos like Alejandro. Sometimes I too wonder why is it that she is LGBT community loves and stans her so hard. I guess its all about mutual feeling of that bully, being different and loving urself. And whenever I see some boy stanning gaga, I always wonder if he is gay because rarely straight person Stan gaga. For me I will say it happened naturally. I just stanned her suddenly. So unless its her illuminati contract having gugu powers over us, its natural I guess. How we fall in love with someone unknown completely. Love it when you call me legs In the morning, buy me eggs

Haldy 1,255
We love a good pop diva. And we love it when they love us back. Gaga's always been vocal and outspoken in her support for the LGBT community, as well as being a part of the community herself (being bisexual). She adores fashion and regularly wears haute couture and avant-garde designers, which bring both looks and drama to her performances (she herself is essentialy a drag queen). She takes influence from LGBT culture both sonically and visually while propping up LGBT talent, in both the Haus of Gaga and in her videos/performances. She fights ferociously for our rights and had pushed for equality from the very start of her career and hasn't once slowed in that. She's sexual, powerful and nonconforming in her gender expression and visuals. Gaga embraces her 'strange' attributes and encourages us to do the same. With all this in mind... how could we not stan? VasilisVas 5,132
Honestly I think it’s the music. Gays are also attracted to Britney, Xtina, Madonna, Ariana, etc.
TheFriend 1,964
I think she's just a naturally loving person. That's it.
Jose P 23,341
I’ve thought about this as well. I mean, she had a massive gay following before BTW so it really is something interesting to think about. I myself became a fan with The Fame, and I was just very attracted to how different and bizarre she was. I remember even being slightly scared of her (I was like 9) yet couldn’t keep my eyes off her and she just intrigued me a lot. It’s really just a matter of what gay people like in general, which is fun dance pop with great, interesting visuals and outfits, and a strong provocative female image, mixed with rebellion and defiance. Madonna was the ultimate gay icon before Gaga came around and she also fills those characteristics. I guess one really could make a whole psychological and sociological analysis as to why gay people, men in general, are into artists like this. I couldn’t though bc I don’t really have much knowledge in those areas but it really is very interesting food of thought.
gumzy3000 7,125
I think her braveness to dress weird and and be bold was liberating for a lot of gay people. I personally saw it as her being defiant and fierce, something I wish I was when I was younger and in the closet. To add to this, she always spoke up for the gays even in the beginning of her career. I never saw it as a marketing ploy or gimmick. When she walked in some lgbt march sometime in the early 2010s, I knew she actually cared about us since she was getting so political and serious. She didn’t just use us as props to in a music video to sell a story, her whole image and persona helped normalize gay people in society. trolly troll troll

Idk, I’ve met some straight people who love their music stars. The guys usually go for sports/their favorite player though, same concept. I used to know a guy who loved Chance The Rapper, he didn’t have a stan account or anything but he talked about him all the time, that was his go to artist, etc. there was also a guy who loved J-Pop girl groups... when I tell y’all how surprised everyone was when they found it out (he’s straight) He had his whole room decorated, had CDs, etc. My (girl) friend dated him and based off the stories I can confirm he’s atleast bi lol
