Reidstar 321
Don't get me wrong, I'm a grateful little monster for the Stupid Love music video and single rollout but she has still been so quiet on the promo front? If we compare this era to the Perfect Illusion single rollout she was at every radio station the day after it was released promoting the single, off to the UK doing video interviews, dropping hints about the album, etc. so far she has ONLY done the Zane interview at Apple Music (that we know of). I know she has in the past had a bad relationship with "overhyping" too early but is anyone else thirsty for more radio/video promo and interviews? I think it would help the song/video and the thirst for the next leak... (oops I mean single lol) I used to enjoy listening to every interview (no matter how dumb the interviewer's questions were) - she always kept her answers fresh and gave us hints of information. And she's just so well spoken and intelligent and I could listen to her talk all day. But...on the contrary in the ASIB era she said the "100 people in the room" quote every f***ing time, so i could do without another one of those hahaha
stevana229 1,880
agreed. I feel like she's not promoting Stupid Love very much
dynamite 59,838
She isn't promoting it and I feel like it's intentional - because she's saving it all for a bigger single / the album release. She barely promoted Perfect Illusion either though tbh. It didn't have one televised pop performance at a big show. Just two piano performances, one of them on the radio, and the Dive Bar. dit 46,483
I think after PI mess she learned a valuable lesson that interviews and radio promo does NOTHING if you do not have a solid radio deal and if you don't have a easy to digest song (even tho Stupid Love isn't the most easiest song to digest either imo). Also Shallow / ASIB really gave her entire career a second wind that we havn't seen in ages. She is loved in the US in a way that she was not even during her peak TFM days. Radio sees that love, chart success with Shallow, popularity and are inclined to believe their support for SL will not go to waste so they are pushing the song whereas when Gaga released PI her career was not in the best of places and she had a super weak radio deal. The song was also really grating for many to listen to. Her radio interviews were nice for us fans but generally they were but a waste of valuable time for her at the end of the day because radio did not help even after all those interviews. Yeah I guess i see your point kind of. I think some of it might could also be due to her health/chronic pain and just doesn't want to be bothered considering it already leaked. but imo Stupid Love is way more radio friendly than most of her other singles
WhiteWitch 720
Tbh I think it’s because for a large part of the population, radio is dead. It’s all about streaming and social media. I mean, I personally have not even used a radio in like 3 years. I feel like it would be a waste of money to do radio promo other than streaming radio like Zane Lowe.
