Cherry 17
Yeah but her 2nd, 3rd 4th singles? "Poker Face" has 176 million views. "Telephone" has 200 million views. "Judas" has 162 million views. "Alejandro" has 184 million views. "The Edge of Glory" has 68 million views. "LoveGame" has 93 million views. "Paparazzi" has 112 million views. "Yoü and I" has 64 million views. (not that bad considering its success was mainly restricted to the US) "Marry the Night" has 50 million views (which again isn't that bad considering it wasn't a very big hit anywhere). The only "bad" count on this is "TEOG" and even then, that's still decent even if it's not massive. ALSO, these are just official video counts. Any video on YouTube containing the song counts towards its Hot 100 points. She'll be fine.
chris777 112
If you're gonna include streaming it made sense to bring youtube in, but the way it overwhelms sales and airplay is kind of ridiculous., Agreed. Youtube views should count but not in that huge way
craig 680
So can they actually distinguish youtube views by Americans from foreigners?
Pop Art 1,773
So let's see. Now, to ensure that ARTPOP's lead single will debut well, we should... - Buy the single on iTunes/Amazon Music/Etc. - Request it on radio numerous times - Listen to it on Spotify or some other streaming service whenever possible - Watch it's video on YouTube often Are lyric videos incorporated into this new YouTube rule or are they still part of the streaming factor? Pop Art 1,773
"Judas" has 162 million views. "Marry the Night" has 50 million views (which again isn't that bad considering it wasn't a very big hit anywhere). Oh wow, I just realized. With these new rules, these songs would have done much better. Both of their respective videos accumulated a significant amount of views upon release. Judas may have gone Top 5, and Marry The Night may have gone Top 10, or at least Top 15.

Runway 27,876
That **** song can't be #1 At least this will help gaga :emma:
Cherry 17
It will help her. All of her videos have explosive starts view wise before slowing down. She's settled into the Britney cycle, big starts and slow finishes. She'll have that week of the release where her song jumps 5-10 places (depending where it was before) before sliding back down Gaga has aways to go before she gets to that point. The only songs of hers that had big starts and short chart lives were "Judas" and "Marry the Night". Everything else has had a respectable amount of longevity. But yes, this new rule focuses more on immediacy than longevity, which means that a highly buzzed new video could earn her a few more #1 hits with the right airplay and sales. VFD 57
The thought of Stupid Hoe topping Billboard with this rule.

Both of their respective videos accumulated a significant amount of views upon release. Judas may have gone Top 5, and Marry The Night may have gone Top 10, or at least Top 15. At best, "Judas" would have returned to the top ten and possibly repeaked, but not top 5. The song's sales were poor after its first week and its airplay was never very big. "Marry the Night" would have definitely been a top 20 hit under the new rules.
