Dangerous Man 9,245
Glad that LOOH is back in the top 10 of iTunes again. His album might also jump back to the upper half of the top 10 of the Billboard 200 next week. Way to go for Bruno! and can't believe his album is set to sell 80k this week. His album was not even nominated in the AOTY award in the grammy. :legend: "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
CANNOGABANG 4
I found it highly annoying that people won't give up the title of Queen of Pop to a different artist. I don't deny the changes and impact that Madonna has brought, but she couldn't be the queen of pop forever. Gaga basically made the same thing with the current era
Dangerous Man 9,245
Haha I never cared for GS, either. Musically. But GS had a tendency to light up the room. It's the same deal with Thrift Shop. You just gotta love the energy those types of songs bring to people. I remember when Just Dance and Poker Face would do that. Bad Romance and Telephone did it too. (4 huge bops from the same woman in such a short amount of time -- that is why Gaga was already being considered Queen of Pop) I like GS coz of that reason also. and please include alejandro on that list... :Jase: "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." CANNOGABANG 4
I thought Katy is the new queen of pop? I think you mistook Katy with the singer whose name started with K. Kelly, Kerlie, Ke$ha? Speaking of queen of pop (dat's the one at the end of my mention ), where is her new single announcement. C'mon should be at the point of no return now. Mills 446
Titles are subjective, similar to musical preferences. Fanbases naturally love to give their fave a title that would further solidify their regard / opinion on that certain artist, perhaps to satisfy their own want. I've heard some people, and even the media, calling the likes of Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, and even Rihanna as the Queen of Pop at one point in time. The pop music scene is too competitive that everyone wants to be on top, hence the naming of titles as either part of brand imaging or merely boosting one's regard is too common. But the thing is, unlike her contemporaries who are being called the new Queen of Pop by their fanbases and some media outlets, Gaga was actually named as the new Queen of Pop by a reputable media organization, particularly the RollingStone, not purely based on one's opinion but rather with statistics to back it up. The selection is somehow systematic, in the process denying any bias to be involved (or lessen such bias if it's inevitable). The term "new" is vital, because it represents the current generation of artists and a new generation of audience as well. Madonna's influence and impact is truly incomparable as she literally opened the doors for female pop stars. She's a legend and more than just an icon. But for this generation, I'd like to believe that Gaga has earned herself to be the Queen of Pop of this generation. The recognitions from the likes of TIME, FORBES, and even the Guinness World Records, the accolades, the records, the worldwide sales, the tour receipts loudly say it. And compared to her own contemporaries, she's far ahead. Elvis Presley had his time, and so did Michael Jackson. And both of them are considered Kings in their own rights. I could not see any reason for the female artists not to have the same treatment. Is there really a double standard within society for women not to have more than just one Queen? Star 4,409
I failed to see how did Stay got 24 millions views in just 4 days... while S&T got only almost 3 millions Clearly, it is the way of Payola... tsk, tsk. People need to stop trying to hard get #1 in single. But if they want #1, they should do promo rather than payola....
Emvee 8,412
:hehe: 22 will be such a lovely addition to Kidz Bop. She also sounds a lot like Kesha in that song. But, seriously. That song should be called 15.
Mills 446
There were talks that Taylor Swift's music video for her new single, 22, would somehow address the controversy she has with Harry Styles even further. Cry Me A River? I'm quite excited on how 22 would perform in the charts. :excited:

I doubt the queen is releasing another single from her majestic album called Warrior. The queens sometimes need rest after flops like what gaga did. I'm quite excited on how 22 would perform in the charts. I don't think the issue can affect Taylor's success. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." These are the actual reasons why gaga deserves that title. Katy's impact is far from Gaga's yet while Rihanna isn't really a pure pop artists and yeah she's very popular but her impact is still far from gaga's. But, titles in music industry don't really mean anything for many people nowadays. I guess those are just old traditions back then. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
