I'll be interested if Nicki indeed strays from pop on her new album like she's been saying. Her two most recognizable hits in the GP are Super Bass and Starships, both pop songs. She also has Turn Me On, Va Va Voom, and Pound the Alarm, which were moderate hits in their own right.

In any case, she HAS to stop these rent-a-rapper pop features. In fact, can we just abolish that trend from pop music completely? I hate these random 30-second rap features, they sound so out of place and silly.

I think that rap will solidify a more long term career, though. We've already seen how her pop fan base is ready to abandon her at any moment. Rappers might not be the hot thing on the singles chart right now, but they have a very dedicated group of followers. Just look at Lil Wayne.

Another top 10 entry for Rih. How good for her. Still the song wont peak much higher than this, it's already falling in sales. Unless the radio helps it reach the top 5 in a few weeks tho.

Yea this isn't going number one, but mainly due to bad luck. It took longer to get going on the radio than expected. Had this peaked on the radio this week, it would have been number one for sure. As it is, the sales will have leveled out by the time this reaches a competitive radio peak,

No surprise. Rhythmic and Urban radio are occupied with Pour It Up (top 5 on each), and she relies on them for high airplay. Pop radio wasn't heavily into the last Riri ballad, so naturally they didn't rush to drop Diamonds for it.
