except billboard itself acknowledges those as hers as well

They're wrong. In that case Video Phone, and Chillin' were flops and Gaga has 4 not 2.

Not a One Republic fan.

And I agree that S&M should not be counted as a Britney song. The radio version I've always heard was Rihanna only. How was it counted by BB?

exactly. they can't be wrong, the rules are theirs

Telephone counts as a top 10 for Beyoncé, for example

They can be wrong, just as the government is sometimes wrong. They make the rules, doesn't mean they are correct.

Billboard credited Britney Spears with S&M hitting #1 as the remix of which she was featured in greatly affected its sales, and later on, lead for Rihanna to have her third HOT 100 chart-topper from Loud. Without the assist from Britney, Katy Perry's E.T. with Kanye West would have spent more weeks at #1, and in the process tie BTW's weeks at the top of the HOT 100 chart.

I don't care what anyone says, but S&M shouldn't count.

Of course it should, it wouldn't have hit #1 without her

I think it should count exactly because no one can be 100% sure about how the song would have charted without one or another artist.

On another note: Is anybody else surprised at the amazing longevity of "Home"? Has it set some type of record yet? It's been steady in the top 10-15 of iTunes for the better part of a year!

Wow :usrs:. The song are made of two people, with their own work and sweat. Why would it only count the original artist?

The S&M remix was a completely cheap tactic, but the only reason it went to number one was because of Britney so I think she deserves to be credited with it. I'm thrilled that the last-minute duet trend seems to have faded.

Yes, I never thought it would do so well.

Britney deserves to be credited for getting the song to #1 so it SHOULD count as one of her 5 chart toppers. But I suppose it shouldn't count as a Top 10 since it was already there when the remix was released. So, technically, Britney has 5 #1's and 12 solo Top 10's.

Cling on to those 2 hits. :troll:

Impressive, though. For peaking at only #5 it did really well!
