Klou 2,414
And I'm assuming Ellie's last two singles went Top 10 in the UK then if she's doing great? You're being really ignorant. We all know around here that only getting top 10's is the only way to stay relevant
Tommymonster44 0
I think Interscope is one of the best in the industry, and they made Lady Gaga who she is. Lana ruined her own career. They were amazing enough to get such a new act a spot on SNL, and she squandered it. I agree with you there. But i also feel like Lana has grown so much as a performer since then, and her next album has a serious chance of gaining US support if it's played right. She's not popular enough for a radio hit here, but a lot of people know her name. She's gotten serious internet support. Her label needs to capitalize on that. I agree with you there. But i also feel like Lana has grown so much as a performer since then, and her next album has a serious chance of gaining US support if it's played right. Tommymonster44 0
Gangnam Style did awful on US radio Actually it was a top 15 hit. It's sales to airplay ratio is horrid, but it was still a considerable radio hit. Nobody is saying Lana is going to be the next number one hit maker, but a string of top 20 hits would be a more realistic outlook. And I've heard Lana's songs on US radio before, and they aren't that outside of the norm. Songs such as National Anthem and Dark Paradise sound great. This forum needs to get a grip on what is a "hit." There's a number one or nothing attitude here. That's totally unrealistic and doesn't apply to real life. Artists can be successful without 5 number one hits.

Ozzy8923 9
Lana does make a lot of music videos for singles that end up flopping. :ohno:
Americano 31,061
In some countries, not going Top 10 DOES mean you're going to end up flopping because radio won't back it and it all just falls apart. I don't know how Gaga's fanbase doesn't see that, it happened to the BTW era in the UK towards the end and in France etc
Mantequilla 0
I don't even think Lana cares about getting hits Do any of her songs get sent to radio anyways?
Americano 31,061
Have you guys heard what she's said about the US market? Radio won't even play her anyway after she was so dismissive. She clearly doesnt care about it and that's not going to help her cause with Interscope
WarriorPrince 1
People saying that Lana ended her career in SNL is really giving me Adam Lambert AMA's 2009 teas if you ask me these are quite pointless arguments, i dont think a single performance could have such a big impact. 6. Thrift Shop 9. Can't Hold Us12. Thrift Shop 78. Same Love109. Thrift Shop Inb4 TS has 2 versions in the top 10 on iTunes :haha:
Mariano 958
Do you think Lana would have been able to sell 3mln Albums WW without the support of Interscope '-'
Tommymonster44 0
Do you think Lana would have been able to sell 3mln Albums WW without the support of Interscope '-' People forget this. The US market isn't the end of the world. She's found a successful launch elsewhere, and that's okay. Her album has sold more worldwide than many other US acts with top 10 singles to promote it. WarriorPrince 1
Still 2.5M WW (except US) is great for someone like Lana, but let's not pretend its massive.
