Just Give Me a Reason is definitely coming for that Top 10 if it keeps rising at this rate. Seems like people are responding to this song better than they have Try and Blow Me. Could be a high ranker in the near future.

But with the new rules, do you think it'll make it to the Top 10? I'd be worried if I were P!nk. She's never been too strong when it comes to YouTube - her strong point is radio.

The song is good to be played on radio or at the club.

But I don't think that video is going to boost sales or increase interest! :o :eww: :eww:

I know it's kinda late but I just want to say that I like the new BB rule for H100 even if it'l be a big disadvantage for Bruno, I mean WIWYYM currently has near 8M views only.

well, assuming that they count views from US ONLY. :ohwell:

The new rule must be fixed, even though this will most likely be the only time that a song gets 100 mln views in a week ... We will se in 1 or 2 months how will it work with other songs, that are not Harlem Shake with 10000 separate clips in Youtube

Mediatraffic WW sales estimations for Bruno:

#2. Bruno Mars - Unorthodox Jukebox (152.000)/ 10 Weeks on the chart

Total:2,079,000

#4. Locked out of heaven (319,000)/ 20 Weeks on the chart

Total:6,193,000

what a flop :classy:

plus UJ is predicted to sell 40-45k next week in the US and is currently number one on itunes album chart so I expect it'll be much higher.

The new Carly single is catchy enough for a top 20 but the video: We're not lovers but more than friends ( and when you are more than friend with somebody bot not lovers, you kiss him) and I'll keep dancing till the morning with somebody new/tonight I'm getting over you ( and in the video she stayed with the boy she is getting over and did not dance with somebody new ..) Weird '-'

It seems we'd be getting another third quarter album release this year, and it's from no other than Elton John. According to Billboard, the legendary musician is eyeing a September release for his 30th solo album as he has already finished it.

Elton John has finished what he calls "the most piano-oriented album of my career" and is looking at a release in September.

Titled "The Diving Board," the 13-track album comprises songs written in two sessions with lyricist Bernie Taupin. The first was in January 2012 soon after the completion of his album with Leon Russell, "The Union." Four others were written and recorded in January of this year.

The album is a mix of gospel, blues, jazz, brass band music, pop and a waltz -- "everything I love about American music," he said. Taupin treats each song as a short story that, in turn, giving the work a cinematic feel.

"This is the album I should be making after 'The Union.' It's my most adult album."

Here's the full article.

that is one of the reasons why I like the new rule. A song in a video gaining 100M views in just a week really deserves recognition. That is a a very rare event and even gaga can't pull those views.

---

Streaming points has still the least proportion in the formula but because of that very big views, it helped HS a lot. However, it's near impossible for that event to happen again every week so everything will be normal and fair-looking after this week and I bet all of us will slowly embrace this new rule. Neither bieber, rihanna, katy nor gaga can pull those numbers of views in just a week so i doubt they can debut number 1 by just YT views. Plus, YT system is now very strict in counting view and they can already detect invalid views so I think the competition will still be tight and exciting.

And this is the time that the fans can support their faves more than the past few years. :legend:

Yes that is what I'm thinking... but I mean that all of these clips it is a little Unfair... because Alejandro for example was mega popular both the song and the video, while with Harlem Shake only the parodies are popular and they are 30 seconds each ... a little weird.. but then Again, I don't think there will be a song with so many parodies and etc so maybe HS deserves something (I don't think that Hot 100 number 1 is what its deserves but It is truly the most popular song right now and Hot 100 shows which are the most popular songs so..) It is some kind of revolution and I think that this rule should have appeared a long time ago (When Lady Gaga show how big a video can be with Bad Romance making 100 mln in 10 days (without parodies, and with only 1 video) !

If this single flops from Carly, she's over.

The song is built for radio.

I don't particularly care for the video; it makes no sense to me. It's a whole bunch of random shots put together ... low budget obviously

:tea: It's catchy as hell and if it flops she wont shine anymore too bad for her one hit wonder probably just like Psy today all forgot his Gangnam style :teehee:

okay I get your point. Sadly it's the truth but... past is past so let's just not think of that.

I'm not a fan of Harlem Shake but I enjoy watching people dancing it on TV programs esp. in my fave noon-time show and it's very crazy rn and I'm not even in the US that's why I think it deserves that recognition. Oh well, like what you've said, let's see what will happen to Billboard H100 on the next few weeks.

^I'm surprised any Katy songs aren't there.

and gaga could never... I hope she can have more chart longevity on her next album esp. now that the BB formula has changed.

Tonight I'm Getting Over You is pretty boring.

Where have we got the 9M WW sales for Born This Way (single)? Because according to mediatraffic it's hardly at 7M WW.

edit: Nevermind. Did a little research and accoarding to IFPI by November 2011 it had sold over 8.2M WW which means that by now it could be at 9M (even though realistically it's probably at 8.5M)

Can't wait for 10million sales :legend: I know I'm delusional but maybe year or few and it will be certified for selling 10million units :legend: :emo:

I hope for this too I prefer longevity than big first week sales.. :nails:
