Pure Adrenaline 1,518
BB HOT 100 is becoming more and more irrelevant with every single day from now on we could expect Katy,Rhena,JB,1D to run the top (and hopefully gaga if she stops making 2 hours long videos), if the direction of the chart position is moving in that way we could expect in some years sales to count less that 10% basically we will be forced to listen (and like) what the heck the radios want to spin, we'll be witnesses of more and more viral acts to take the lead with every year from now and most importantly no one would care about the quality and what GP prefers. I think that this is one of the best examples that we're start living in one digital world where the physical music seller are becoming old-fashioned trend. It's a bit sad but I guess that it's just how the times are now and within years from now all will come to it's place how it must be. It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
WarriorPrince 1
These new rules are ridiculous in a not acceptable way. Sales are so much more important...

AURA 2,890
These new rules are ridiculous in a now acceptable way. Sales are so much more important... Expecting every stupid - but viral - music to rule the world from now on. RIP
Klou 2,414
It says in the Billboard article: "Shake," in fact, leads the Hot 100 with three-and-a-half times the overall chart points total of "Shop." Before the change TS was estimated to be getting 60200 chart points vs HS 22300 But for HS to have 3.5x the points of TS it must have about 210700 points which means YouTube contributed about 188400 or 89% of its points. Another way to look at it is for a song to have matched Harlem Shake on sales alone under the new rules it would have needed about 2.5 million sales in one week... now that would have been something. omg I am speechless

Klou 2,414
Thanks for all your input, Magoo. It just solidified the joke it has become. Do we know how many views Harlem Shake accrued the last week? In the US?
Galactic Mess 1,393
With Gaga planning on videos for all ARTPOP songs get ready for her to slay the charts Lol this. She'll most likely have multiple songs in the top 10 at the same time with this rule. Billboard will probably start buying yt views too, just like rihanna's label
Galactic Mess 1,393
Lol only now have I seen magoo's post... It's ridiculous how YouTube has become such a huge factor in determining a song's position in the charts. They may also call their charts YouTube hot 100 now tbh

What a mess Even Friday could have been #1 with these rules even though it never did well on iTunes or radio. I just realized that Friday went viral around the time Born This Way was #1. Imagine the meltdowns if it blocked it :deadbanana:
truthandfacts 0
Harlem Shake doesn't even have a proper video. Like seriously, they're really counting 103 million plays from random videos in its chart position? This has got to be the most idiotic move Billboard has ever made. And of course it just comes out of the blue now that HS has gone viral. Seriously what the hell. Billboard has lost its potency,i don't know why we're even still using them. Did they add all the parody videos that ain't even official videos, what a lame ass move.
