Billboard is going to have to get rid of this rule soon. Practically every Rihanna/Katy Perry/Justin Bieber song will hit #1 thanks to youtube. I think the views should count. But not as much as they are having them count

Wtf at the new way of charting lmao

Such a joke. In that case, 'Friday' by Rebecca Black shouldve gone #1

A perfect example of why this rule needs to be eliminated ASAP. Viral videos do not (necessarily) represent public taste.

Showing just how strong "Shake" is in streaming, "Shop" registered an impressive 10.1 million streams in the chart's tracking week (dipping 1-2 on Streaming Songs), but the figure is clearly exponentially lower than the 103 million for "Shake." "Shake," in fact, leads the Hot 100 with three-and-a-half times the overall chart points total of "Shop."

If you're gonna include streaming it made sense to bring youtube in, but the way it overwhelms sales and airplay is kind of ridiculous.,

Yeah but her 2nd, 3rd 4th singles? :rip:

Gaga is probably guaranteed 2-3 #1 hits thanks to this if Interscope times the video releases right (which they seemed to improve on with the BTW era).

Yeah but her 2nd, 3rd 4th singles? :rip:

It will help her. All of her videos have explosive starts view wise before slowing down. She's settled into the Britney cycle, big starts and slow finishes.

She'll have that week of the release where her song jumps 5-10 places (depending where it was before) before sliding back down

One Direction and Justin Bieber will score #1 hits thanks to this new rule. Mark my words.

This is so true. In fact, anyone with a viral video would have a huge chance to debut at #1. That includes Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and the list goes on and on. I can already imagine we'd have a new #1 every other week.

Youtube Views count now? so Stay has a chance to go #2? :woot:

Anyways such a terrible rule. Why views should count? That is stupid. JB will get #1 same as 1D :cryga: :cryga: :cryga:

Nicki Minaj? Viral video? :derpga:

She once held the record of accumulating the most views in VEVO in a 24-hour period. I think it's SH. :toofunny:
