Arturo 40,746
Ho Hey just really needs to die already. It's a pretty good song, but being that my local radio has been supporting it since school started last August. I'm so sick of it. People complain about how much the pop girls are overplayed, but this song has been in power rotation for seven months. That's just unheard of. I don't believe that one of our pop girls has ever had a song on the radio that long, have they? At first it started off as a sleeper hit floating near the bottom of the top 20 and top 10 for months on end. If that wasn't already tiring enough, it's now gotten a gradual and prolonged burst to the top of the chart. I don't understand the radio's infatuation with this song and why it has been on power rotation for what is now nearing a year. Of course, the radio always overplays the same old material, but it's been worse than usually lately. Whistle, Wild Ones, Home, Ho Hey, It's Time, etc. have been on repeat for almost a year now. Even back in 2010 when everything seemed to be ruled by pop there was more variety than this. Oh my gosh, I know! Ho Hey, It's Time, and Home get played hourly. It's so tiring. Same with Flo Rida. You just have to hear I Cry or Wild Ones when you turn on the radio. Radio also hasn't seemed to have dropped WANEGBT while IKYWT is topping the Pop chart. Tommymonster44 0
iTunes 178. Krewella - Alive 325. Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love 364. Justin Bieber - All Around the World (feat. Ludacris) 412. Marina and The Diamonds - How to Be a Heartbreaker 583. OneRepublic - If I Lose Myself 1258. Justin Bieber - Right Here (feat. Drake) Marina doesn't seem to be going much anywhere. Radio reluctant to add spins. OneRepublic much lower than expected. Right Here is Justin's Rhythmic single gaining spins, but extremely low on iTunes. Pop single AATW looks like it will do well. Hopefully Glee will give the leverage Marina needs to finally get this song going. It's a wonderfully made pop song and is extremely catchy, but 2013 doesn't seem to be the year for a new pop act to break through. The radio is reluctant to play any unknown pop stars. Oh, God. I love that song so much  I know that most of their songs take quiet a long time to climb, but IILM should be higher by now. It's much better than most songs smashing at the moment. WarriorPrince 1
I don't see Marina getting a top 10 single in her career but that doesnt matter to me, it's just like Lana for me. I don't care about their singles success. Unlike Gaga. Ain't nobody got time for your sad attempt at trying to shade Exactly.

Yeah, I'm really surprised it's THAT low considering radio has started playin it. It's a really great song. Are you just now noticing that? I've known ever since I heard Primadonna I never said I was suprised :P If they wouldn't play her lead single they surely won't be playing anything else. Arturo 40,746
Lana and Marina will forever remain hipster pop stars. I'm fine with that. I already dislike 99% of things played on radio. I wouldn't want to make it worse.

craig 680
Lana isnt pop. She's just as pop as Adele (semi-pop) - she was marketed as the next big hipster trend, and ballads have been popular in many eras on pop radio.
